Looking at a ktm for sale on Facebook marketplace and the seller says the frame cracked but was repaired. Would you trust riding on this?

Yeah, he probably should have washed it before posting. Also 360 hours on the bike seems a bit high. I’ll keep looking.

The 350hrs is the deal breaker, the weld can easily be properly redone.

I see an opportunity if it's cheap enough. New frame, suspension service, top end, bottom end inspection, couple bearings.. may be alright. Also it depends on the owner. If its 360 hours of someone who's 52 years old and rides alot with friends, maybe. A 26 year old racer? pass.
I bet he see's his frame as "good" and wont be coming off an additional 1400 to account for the above.
Every bike has a price at which it is a good deal. Even an extremely well used filthy heap . what is the price?

The real question is: how on God's green earth did that frame fail there??? I've never seen a KTM frame crack/break like that, and have a hard time imagining the loads required to do so....
I'd be a hard "no" on that thing, unless you got it for like $1k and replaced the frame completely. If you have tons of time on your hands and the right deal perhaps....
I'm wondering the same thing. I'm guessing from the tank it is being used as woods bike so maybe a high side on to the edge of a rock?
Is it just me or is there also a crack on the kick starter and the case?
Rough bike but for the right price would certainly be worth it, assuming you can find a frame or a great welder. Hard to say how thrashed it is off of a photo, the close up pick by the kickstarter shows a descent amount of boot rub on the frame which is a pretty easy way to tell hours.
At least he was honest and didn't just cover it up with frame guards.
If a guy can’t even take the time to wash the bike before posting it for sale I would be very leery of the general maintenance (or lack thereof) that occurred during their ownership.
I suppose it comes down to how invasive you want to be and your time/money available, but I would have been steered away before I even made it to the pictures of the frame.
$2500 max - personally wouldn't even spend that on it. Anyone who posts a bike for sale in that condition has not done the proper maintenance on it esp. w/ that many hrs.

I wondered the same thing.
360 hours, not more than a grand and that would give me a lot of heartburn. It needs a complete teardown, new crank and gearbox inspection, all frame, suspension bearings. Finding a fabricator type welder around here isn't a big deal, that would be the least of my worries about that bike. There has to be a better choice for that kind of money.
I don't see a problem with the weld, the frame has 360 hours on it so it's fairly "pliable" by now. The frame will just wallow instead of breaking at the weld. lol
