number 96. dude is disciplined, mentally solid, fast. he ain't goin' away, and he ain't choking

I think Webb is too gritty and consistent, he will outlast the rest of the pack, Tomac, Sexton, Roczen, etc, but Hunter is the real problem

Eli has them all covered and they know it because they’ve seen the proof.

At the crossroads of preparedness and opportunity, is luck. I'm not talking about superstitions, I'm talking about making your own luck.

In my opinion, Webb is lucky, which can better then good. Clearly not the fastest guy, but there he is, at the top of the box.

Man I kinda have no idea anymore who to pick for this title. I think at this point I'd go ET, Webb, Hunter, Kenny, Sexton in this order. It looks like we really have 5 legit title contenders

Eli has had mid season slumps almost every year, he winds up outside the top five before he gets better again.

I don’t think Webb has a grip on the pack nearly as well as he has in the past. You could say he has Kenny covered, but that’s because he always has. Everyone else I’m not sure you can stamp that statement. If Hunter wins the title this season, it is going to mirror the Dunge style of consistency rather than domination. We’ve got a great 450 season ahead of us.

I don’t think Webb’s mental tricks are going to work on  Kenny or Tomac anymore. And he hasn’t shown regular race winning speed yet. Always great to see Webb in the points battle; makes things interesting, but he needs to win a non triple crown before I see him as a threat to Tomac.

He’s going to have to win some races but I’ve learned to  never count out Webb

You and I are in the same boat.....  The racing this year has been great, and FAST.  Picking a title fav so far this year is a coin flip......  Too many look too good to brush one off to the side.  Anderson is also showing signs of his former form on the Suzuki, and I seriously would not count him out for snagging one this season.  Everyone has their favorite riders , but we can all agree that this season is a treat to where anyone in the top 10 can win on any given night.  I really hope that these guys can all stay healthy, because they are giving us one hell of a season so far.

Outside of Hunter, yeah Tomac is the favorite, but for whatever reason, like last night, Tomac makes costly mistakes that cut him off at the knees,....

I like Hunter. But, he's got to get some race wins under his belt. 3 race wins this season, championship contender next year.

I really like Hunter as well, as he just seems to "always" be right there.......Reminds me of Dungey so much it's spooky.  Was thinking last night how nuts the world would go if Hunter pulled this whole thing off without an overall.......  Anything is possible this year!

All he has to do is what he's always done...make as few mistakes as possible and wait for others to fuck up.  If you can't be faster than them...be smarter than them.😉

Didn’t Hunta and Webb also make mistakes? Heck Webb is very lucky with that early race mistake, could’ve been ugly

except for that little endo (that didn't cause DNF) Eli was on a roll. Getting a holeshot and moto win was signs of something different with him now. He's still right there in the top of the hunt.

I agree. Webb seems to be making a few more mistakes than normal this year though. That finish line case could have been nasty!

except Tomac recovered and finished the race instead of costly DNF like in past years. Still leads series too...

Lol...yeah.  He ain't perfect but there's no such thing as perfect in dirt bike racin'.  The tracks tryin' to kill ya...the other guys are tryin' to kill ya.  All you can do is survive and that is Webbs special sauce.🙃

Webb won OA with 4/2/3 finishes. The top five were all over the place with their finishes. Looked like a 250 triple header! Fun races to watch, but my fantasy picks sure sucked.

I’m not there yet to compare Hunter to Dungey. Dungey was already winning at this point and multiple times. But Hunter is always right there for a mistake to let him win. I do think his first win is coming this season for Hunter.

Webb makes a lot of his time up with his ability to make tight turns like nobody's business.   And he's a lot like Hunter where his lap times don't seem to take a nosedive late in the race.   Those dudes are like freight trains.

Oddly, things DO change; yet, there’s one thing that apparently doesn’t…and here it is:

You CAN NOT count Webb out. Ever. That look on his face, last week, wasn’t a joke. He was pissed. And, we all know what comes after that. 🤣

All that aside, this year we’ve seen…

Eli rip starts and run away.

Chase shred his way to the front…and still, Sexton is gonna Sexton.

Jason Anderson make his way to the front…even well into the race…huh?

Webb sneak thru the pack like a Ninja…and he’s doing his usual “Wait ‘til we go East” thing. WINNING!

Prado? WTF! There were a bunch of Vitalistas telling us he’s a quitter. Washed up. “Outdoors Only”…?

KR being KR…and even when he gets shit starts, STILL make his way forward like he’s in it for The Win…

Speaking of Aussies…there’s 2 of them on the HRC 450s…and the one that’s out there at the moment seems to have plans…to win the title. Damn!

Beyond these 1st 4 races, yes, we’re ONLY 4 races in, I’m expecting some runs outta J Coop, Malcolm is on his way back, Plessinger will find his legs, Hampshire and Versace aren’t slow…etc., etc., etc….oh, I haven’t forgotten Marchbanks, either…he’ll find his speed on that 450. And, when Barcia comes back…he’ll be hungry.

Are we still thinking we WON’T see Jett during SX…are we sure?

All I know is that we’re having a pretty damn epic SX season.

I’m  hopeful we ‘ll see’em stay healthy and keep things interesting.

This is such a misrepresentation of the facts. Dungey completely dominated often during his career, both indoors and out. There is nothing about Hunter's career thus far that puts him anywhere close to Dungey's abilities or accomplishments.

Similar to what I said above. There is a reason Dungey and Webb are so high up on the wins and titles list. Hunter is not there to be compared with them, yet.

As far as Webb, this is quite laughable. He has never "had a grip on the pack" in any way, shape, or form. He is incapable of beating any of the top guys head to head. He wins when his competition throws it away and hands it to him, and that is it. He is a second tier racer, as evidenced by his complete and total irrelevance in 450 outdoor competition. Truly, name me a superstar of the sport who has ever been entirely irrelevant in either one of the two disciplines.
