Isn't never letting your kid ride again, bad for the sport too?

Well lets say last ride on the Dad sponsorship plan. I doubt that kid paid for that bike. You pull that shit and you're on your own

I did it back in 1977.... Our High School Motocross team did very well and was not acknowledged by the school. We rode our bikes thru school, at lunch, on the last day, in protest.

They were expecting us and had cops in the area. We stashed our bikes in some girl's backyard (right near the exit to the athletic field). When the cops threatened to impound them, we all came running out... Don't take our bikes!!

We got a lecture from the cops and were not allowed to participate in the Graduation Ceremonies.

No internet or gopro's back then (thank God!), so I don't think the sport was harmed.

The year before, they went in boots and helmets only (streaking was a thing back then LOL).

Suspension looks to stiff, sounds like his jetting is way off too. He didn't handle the turns very well either, anyways I could go on and on with this oneLaughing

Whoop dee doo. Kids will be kids. I've seen seniors do dumber shit for their pranks.

I don't think this is bad for the sport of motocross. Why would it be?

Is it bad for professional road racing when someone does a burn out in the high school parking lot?

I thought everyone rode their bikes through the school back in the '70's? I did.

A couple years before my time, the seniors cut the top off a late 70's Toyota Corolla, picked it up sideways, brought it inside the building, set the top back on it, and then drove it around on the 1st floor.

The way we did it in high school (1974) was that we had an actual motocross race on the school grounds.
True story.
Two table top jumps, complete with flat landing, tires lined the grass course and classes were 80s, 100s, 125s and 175s, nothing over 175.
Pretty wild!

The students should have turned their backs and prayed for a two stroke.

Right after our graduation ceremony...
I had the same experience, only I employed a 1970 Camaro. I replaced my 1968 Camaro with the 1970.

I also had the same experience but with a 97 VW Jetta Sick ...that, at the time, had a blown 2nd gear and no reverse...Us newer generation kids had pretty lame rides in comparison, but with a good e-brake and no mercy I was able to make a descent smoke show.

Who cares if kids ride through a school, no harm no foul

I wish I would have pulled something like that, I was too big of a puss though. I was ranked pretty high in my class and I didn't want to ruin it for my family by not being able to walk for graduation, or get my bike impounded. Every time I see one of these I regret not doing something like this though, graduation is majorly over-rated and I didn't even want to go anyways.

Unfortunately my truck won't do burnouts.

A kid just did it at the school I graduated from.

Senior prank: Student rides dirt bike through EHS halls
by Dee Riggs June 1, 2016, 8:32 a.m.

EAST WENATCHEE — A senior at Eastmont High School won’t be allowed to attend graduation ceremonies after he rode a dirt bike ride through the school halls late Tuesday morning.

The student, whose name was not released, will, however, be given a diploma, said Lance Noell, Eastmont High School principal.

“Usually, senior pranks are stuff like balloons in my office or, one year, seniors got permission to Saran-Wrap the assistant principal’s car,” Noell said. “This was the first time I’ve ever had one that was potentially dangerous.”

One student got a bruised arm when the motorcycle bumped him, Noell said.

The senior brought the dirt bike in through the bus ramp entrance on the second floor, then rode the bike down the stairs and through the Commons, Noell said. Administrators met him at the Commons’ entrance.

“I greeted him, he shut the bike off and we took it into the office,” the principal said.

He declined to say what discipline the senior will receive, other than not being able to attend graduation ceremonies on Friday.

Meh, our senior prank had the entire school evacuated for an hour and sent at least 1 person to the hospital (not proud of that).

So not a new thing in other words? Didn't even know you guys had some senior prank tradition, guess that makes it a little more forgiving if people are expected to do stupid shit.

Still not a fan of people using their bikes where they don't belong though, Our sport doesn't need that.

I was in the same boat as you. I didn't give a sh*t about walking but I sure as hell wasn't going to do anything that could mess up going to college. I don't really regret it though, did some crazy stuff the past couple years in school.Wink (Probably not as much as some kids... well cause racing, engineering, and still trying to get good grades/internships/etc.)

Senior "pranks" like this seem to be for those who know they have hit their prime in high school. They will never be "the man" in the real world. Their life will never get better than that so I see it as sad.
