The shroud resembles a KTM to me. The number plates look similar to a KTM, I highly doubt Chad has his hands on an 18 Suzuki as their announcement has just now barely been made about the JGR team next year. Maybe I'm wrong. Doesn't KTM have a new FE this year, too?

Grainy picture for sure. But the bike appears to not have a perimeter frame like the big 4 450s. And that is not 2 smoke muffler. Darker grey swingarm and big white side panels and polished alum hubs.... could be a ktm....

You can't convince me that's not a KTM... And the fact he's riding one doesn't in and of itself mean he signed anything. But that he changed all his social media stuff to remove Yamaha/Monster might. I think an announcement is coming.

Pulp is just stating the facts, he does have one of the biggest, if not the biggest fan base. The exposure alone is worth something, Chad will be easy top 10 again in 2018, likely top 5, and with a KTM/Husky he would be a good chance of a few wins.

Reed is famous because he's won multiple titles, and passed and beat all of the best riders of the past 15 years. From RC to Roczen and Tomac.

As dumb as this speculation is, I'll bite...

1.) It's Chad Reed. He lives for opportunities to troll the MX world. It's such a Chad Reed move to post a blurry image like this on social media to stir the pot.

2.) Word is Chad returned all of his factory Yamaha equipment back to them months ago. So he probably doesn't have any 2017 bikes left. He does have 2 strokes and some older machines out at his property, but that's not a 2 stroke. Would be good timing for him to be on his new 2018...

Who knows.

He rarely beat those guys. He is king of 2nd place, even in his prime. All of those guys you listed usually smoke chad - in 09 when he won there was no rc, rv was a rookie, and no roczen or tomac.

In 2017 the only way he can get on tv is rolling around blocking dungey. I dont get how this guy has so many people swinging off his sack

Ok...when I'm wrong, I'm wrong. No Yamaha. I see hint of orange on that rear fender & shroud...and the shape of that silencer can looks like an Akrapovic.
