8/4/2025 7:06pm I thought procircuit had a shorty for that bike. Check and see if you have oil leaking around the cc pressure sensor. I don’t think they seal great. That might cause it to run odd.

8/4/2025 5:41am I couldn’t find a confirm that any version of a shorty would fit the new TBI models or def would have gone that route.

8/3/2025 11:21am Bought full kit to see if it might affect very occasional (2x but very noticeable when happened) and unexpected bog. 578g savings or 1.26lb between factory fatty pipe and Ti can. Couldn’t find this anywhere beforehand, figure someone will want to google and know eventually.

VetStuff Added a reply to JBI WP Spring Perch
7/23/2024 6:38pm I’ve looked at it a bunch as well. Since it affects oil displacement outside the traditional valving from mid to end of suspension travel, I can see how it improves bottoming resistance. However I don’t see how it can improve plushness without a matching revalve to start, initial stroke valving would remain the same. JB is a good dude -...
Luxon MX Liked a reply to forum topic KTM 2023+ triples on earlier <=2022
5/17/2024 8:45am The clamping surface loss isn't a big deal so much as the movement up of the pinch bolt to a lower strength portion of the stem. It's doable and people have ridden that way without issue, but it's not ideal. I've seen stems break because of it, but that's a pro level rider too. I wouldn't do it personally, it's not worth it just to get the new bearing seal. The old seal setup works fine, just don't spray the pressure washer directly at it (which is good practice for any seal, really).

5/17/2024 7:52am Thanks @Luxon MX! That description matches my experimenting and measuring exactly. Ack on the 16-22 clamps with the 1 piece seal. I was thinking about the fact that you could compress the bearing enough (which is opposite of trying the 23+ using the old 3-piece). Agree that you'd lose 2.5mm of clamping surface on the stem.

5/16/2024 8:47pm I saw a post where the resident guru from Luxon said that you could use 2023+ triples on pre-2023 bikes if you swapped the upper triple gasket assemble from the 3 piece (rubber seal, stamped steel cap, oring) to the newer 1 piece version. The reason this is needed, based on my experimenting is that the 2022 gasket setup actually...

Luxon MX Liked a reply to forum topic 2024 wp split triples - hard bar mounts?
4/25/2024 4:35am Looks to be the OEM solid conversion kit (I've never actually see in, oddly enough). The bar mount sits in the recess in the clamps and the bolt goes up through that lower bushing and into the bar mount. This converts it to solid instead of rubber. No upper bushing is used. You can just remove that lower piece and install the rubber cones as normal (as you probably already know as you've done it on the right side already).

VetStuff Added a reply to 2024 wp split triples - hard bar mounts?
4/25/2024 4:35am Ha - thanks guys. Never considered converting to hard mount so that didn’t even cross my mind that it was the oem conversion. On the old bikes without the recess in the triples you need both lower and upper cones so the mount can’t shift. Now that you mention it, I can see how the mount can now fit in...
VetStuff Started a new thread 2024 wp split triples - hard bar mounts?
4/24/2024 7:13pm I picked up a set of barely used splits for cheap. Condition is like new so I’m quite happy with myself. 😂 I was expecting to drop existing rubber bar mounts into it when I noticed they had a solid insert in the bottom of them, where the rubber and bushing would go up from the bottom. Oddly they don’t...

VetStuff Added a reply to KTM 350 piston kit question
8/31/2023 9:41pm Are you hard on the engine? I’m a vet moto rider on a tuned up 350 and have measured valves a couple times over 90 hours with no change and piston top looked fine at 50 hours on a bore scope. i decided to skip the top end at 50 and i’m at 90 hours on top and bottom. i...

VetStuff Added a reply to Truing Out Wheel Wobbles --- How Much is Possible?
7/18/2023 4:19pm You can make spokes tight on a warped wheel, tightness alone isn’t enough to say your wheel is alright. Agree with above posts - loosen them all, retighten while truing up.

7/18/2023 4:16pm This is tough to say without seeing your real situation, but I bet you could easily get it a lot better maybe not perfect but better than 1/2”. Hopefully you have a truing stand, if it were me personally I would pull the tire off and basically loosen all the spokes and make sure they aren’t giving you a false sense of being tight, from dirt buildup or corrosion. And then just baisically start from scratch it will be much easier to see your adjustments when all the spokes have just a slight amount of tension on them vs being...

MXer391 Liked a reply to forum topic Would you run this air filter?
6/25/2023 7:32am That's about at the point where I would change it if I was at home in the garage, however if I was at the track I'd have no problem running it. If you use good filters, good oil, and oil it properly, you shouldn't have any dirt pass through regardless of how dirty the outside gets. That filter looks like it meets all those things. You're doing it right.

lumpy790 Liked a reply to forum topic chain master link, is there a right direction to put on a chain?
6/25/2023 7:30am LOL....one says toward the front the other says toward the back......and you saying this with the chan on top or bottom rotation? The reality is the open end should be facing the back when the chain is rotating. If its on the wrong way the open end can snag on the chain guide and pop it off.

4/15/2023 8:33am I am 215 naked 40+ vet. I’m not fast but like chasing my kids and will hit a mild triple to keep up (as riding reference). I thought I might try and mod my 22 300xc suspension for the track but ended up realizing that at my weight it was making it no fun off-road anymore. 300xc offroad i like...

4/4/2023 6:16pm You can weld 6061-T6 and it will age to the T4 condition over time (a few weeks), which is fairly strong. If it's not in a critical spot, then I wouldn't worry about it. But if you're anodizing it, you need to be careful. Brazing rod wouldn't work as it won't take the anodize (I think it's zinc). You'd have to weld it. And if you weld it, the weld will anodize a different color (or just darker/lighter) than the base material. Using 5356 filler rod instead of 4043 is supposed to minimize the difference, but you're still going to...

3/17/2023 8:41am Yes, the Vortex comes from Vortex with their maps loaded but the dealers like Twisted and XPR will load their custom maps for an additional charge. When I bought mine from XPR a few months ago, he told me he is going to begin only selling them only with his maps because the rate of people sending them back for his maps after not being happy with the standard Vortex maps was fairly high. Now as far as how "custom" these maps are, I think people oversell that point a little. At least based on my experience with XPR. He...
