txjcfsr Added a reply to Getting back to Moto/riding at 60+?
10/12/2020 2:42pm Started back racing in 2013 after 38 years off the bike. Here is a picture from a few weeks ago, Monster Mountain MX in Alabama, 63 years old on a 1985 Maico 500. I have several friends that are 75 years old, and older, that still race and are still fast. At the last race I attended there were 2...
txjcfsr Added a reply to Boyd and Stellings
7/25/2020 6:02pm I have Boyd Engineering bike, before they were Boyd and Stellings. The frame has the adjustable rake, and is in pretty good shape, the rest of the bike is very rough. The stampings say Boyd Engineering.

4/16/2020 11:44am I put a 40mm Lectron on my 1986 Maico 490 last week and am very pleased with it.
txjcfsr Added a reply to FAST MINICYCLE RACERS FROM THE '70s
2/6/2020 4:55am Derek Wedding is still racing. He lives near Tyler, TX and is still very fast. If you look him up on Facebook (james derek wedding), he gives "moto updates" from each of his races, and they are very, very entertaining. He rides several bikes in several classes, from 125 to 500. He still hauls ass!
txjcfsr Started a new thread Motocross Race Trailer - Living Quarters
11/14/2019 11:16am I am considering a new trailer and wanted to see if there is any interest in my current MX race trailer. It is a 1999 CargoMate Gooseneck trailer that had a conversion done, when new. (this is what they did before toy hauler trailers were invented). It has full living quarters, bed, fold out sofa, refrigerator/freezer, full size shower, separate...

txjcfsr Started a new thread Identify these Honda forks please
10/14/2019 3:48pm I have a set of Honda forks that I need more information on, please. Specifically, what year model are these forks? I want to put them on a 1997 CR500 Honda and am wondering if I need to change the stem/triple trees, or if I can just swap out the fork tubes and go. Again, what year model are these...

txjcfsr Added a reply to THE DUDE to root for - At Ironman this weekend.
8/22/2019 7:59am It is my understanding that due to the large number of entries they are running qualifying races to get on the gate for the 125 race. If some of the riders don't show up, maybe they won't run the qualifiers, but last week Derek was expecting to have to qualify. I know this man, and admire what he is doing...
txjcfsr Added a reply to Ossa, how do you pronounce it?
5/15/2019 1:45pm I say "Oh-Saa", but it may not be correct. I was lucky enough to get 2 of the GP2s and 2 of the GP3s. Here are some pics of the GP2s....
txjcfsr Added a reply to CZ frame worth
5/13/2019 5:59am I am not sure, but I have one of the early ones, too. It was before Stellings joined. It reads Boyd Engineering, and has the adjustable head stay. It had an Ossa engine in it, but not sure it was designed for that. How much do you want for it?
txjcfsr Added a reply to Maico Comeback?
4/1/2019 1:22pm My 86 is a SC model...the "scrambler" model in 86, and they were air cooled. It has a different serial number prefix than the other 86 models. They probably called it that to use up all of the air cooled parts to then make only water cooled. Getting it ready to DeSoto and Diamond Don's last night and snapped the...
txjcfsr Added a reply to Wow... Amateur day at Daytona 2019 catered to VMX racing?
2/26/2019 2:23am What are the class/bike requirements? In other words, are pre-74 bikes in a different class than the long travel suspension bikes? How new of a bike can be entered? Disc brakes? Water cooled? Maybe there is a link and I just missed it.
txjcfsr Added a reply to Original color code for a 60’s CZ twinport tank - red / orange ish?
2/11/2019 12:23am I have a can of the original color red for the twin pipe CZs. I was mixed for me about 3 years ago. Not sure how quick you are needing the info, but in a couple of weeks I could take it for a color analysis and send you the mixture. I assume that paint stores can take a sample...
txjcfsr Added a reply to some of my builds
1/28/2019 12:16am I just installed a Lectron on a 2005 YZ 250 2 stroke and asked for it to be setup prior to shipping to me. Did a carb swap, fired it up, ran great, no tuning required. I did readjust the idle setting, after it warmed up. I am hesitant to adjust it because it runs so well currently. There may...
txjcfsr Started a new thread Vintage Bike Find of a Lifetime - Two Stroke MX History
1/9/2019 2:11am I wanted to share with everyone a bike that I found in Europe this year. I was working there and ran across this bike, which I think is very significant to MX history. In 1966 a two stroke won the 500cc World Championship, for the first time. It was a CZ 360 twin pipe ridden by Paul Friederichs. He won...

12/17/2018 9:52am Speedman, Yes sir, the seller had a lot of cool bikes in his collection. Several full size 50cc race bikes, which used to be a very big deal in Europe. It seems that they then moved the bikes up to 85cc engines, but they were the full size race bikes, really cool bikes. Almost looked like 125 size engines/cylinders, but...
