Nike bailed hard on the 6.0/Action sports scene. They are still active in skating but they pulled out of surfing super quick and super hard. I was working at Hurley when they scaled back on the Nike action sports line and the writing was on the walls. Glad I left when I did. I had several friends lose their jobs at Hurley over the years when they cannibalized the company and sold it off. Long story short, screw Nike.

If you take a look at what Nike did to the skateboarding industry, we should all be thankful they never started selling boots. A lot of rad footwear companies met their end when Nike jumped in on skateboarding industry only for Nike to completely bail on the sport a few years later. It wasn’t just Nike making a better shoe either and grabbing all the sales, there was a lot of sneaky marketing and contracts where skate shops couldn’t sell competing brands etc..

Thats funny, I made those for the US Open that year for James . The event was sponsored by Rockstar but the MGM was a Red Bull account. We went ahead and paid for all the hotel room keys for everyone that weekend, including the Rockstar marketing team. I was confronted by a rather heated Rockstar rep who yelled at me and then threw his hotel room key at me. It was fun times back then...

Toronto Stew was amazing. Emig and Windham (and Ralphy) were pretty blown away as they were calling the race. Always worth a watch, and pretty amazing that it has nearly 4MM views since it was reposted less than a year ago:

The last concrete driver gave me the receipt and if I am reading it right it took 27 yards @ $125 a yard. So after tax tag and delivery charges ... lol concrete cost was $3,632.65 From the Curb to the end is 140x16 feet plus paved behind the 3rd car garage. 60 foot is 6 inch and rest is 4 inches. Something else to consider is .... Every inch of it was hand finished . Let the curing begin and its sounding like the Fun Mover will be parked in the yard for about 3 more weeks.

Nothing replaces racing... never been to a race facility nor am I even close to fast enough to relate but they all do look the same for the most part out there🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ Side note how cool was it in the 90’s when the pros would show up for a local money race... legit pros and a full gate of traveling privateers as well.. you would never get that nowadays...

My answer is no. They producing drones that have zero race craft, follow one line and lack the ability to think outside the box. I can also add that none of them are particularly good at bike setup. I won’t even get into how horribly they are trained physically.

I've been biting my tongue on this for YEARS but after what I just watched... I'm over it. Why does SX/MX still treat on-track safety like a couple of good ol' boys ripping around the dirt field? It is NOT an elite level motorsport not matter how much they like to use that hyperbole. Just this season, on broadcast, I've seen the following - A few races ago someone crossed a hot racetrack near a triple and almost got plowed into. People DIE that way. - A few races ago an Alpinestars medical worker was running to a downed rider...
