Thank again for the leads on this. I love hearing stories from that era. He spent a lot of time on track with Billy Grossi, Marty Smith, Bruce McDougall, and a lot of other awesome riders. Gave me an appreciation for where the sport came from. Those dudes were some gnarly sob's.

How about Chase simply made a big boy decision to wait a few days to see how his knee felt and then decided he should get an MRI? It's really nobodies business but his own and he doesn't owe anybody an explanation.

I get the appeal of a VIP section, you get space, shade, drinks, a seat, and the promoter gets more dollars. That said, I cannot imagine going to a national and sitting my ass under a tent all day. If I'm at a national I'm going to watch part of the race from every vantage point I can find. I want to see how these guys are tackling every section of the track. I'm there to see the riders, their technique, and their manipulation of the bike in small ways you will never see on tv. You can't do that...

Best deal on VIP was the Holeshot club at glen Helen! $300 got you parking all access special seating with live timing and scoring inside. Breakfast, In and out Burger for lunch and taco truck later in the day. It also got you into special areas around the track, pit passes, free shirt, special autograph signing and other door prizes. Oh and did I mention all you can drink BEER!?!?

Riding slow in the race line and looking back at who is approaching then intentionally roosting them is a bitch move. Every single one of you would be pissed, hell some of you get pissed at this at your local practice day…

van Drunen has been really unlucky with her machinery so far on this trip to America. Such a shame Yamaha or one of its countless support teams couldn't sort her out with a properly competitive bike like the ones her competitors are on

Be careful doing that with the bar mounts; that is not how a proper rubber mounted setup works. Rubber washers in-line with the fastener stack will not allow the mount bolt/shaft to achieve the proper tension and clamping load to the triple clamp. This will cause the fastener to fail in fatigue and/or cause the nut to come loose. It will work fine initially, and it will continue working fine, right up till it doesn't... I'd highly recommend going back to the stock bar mount setup with your other changes and see if the positive is still there (I bet...

Some stuff being speculated is some sort of hydraulic failure. My work partner for 23 some odd years has a good friend he grew up with in the Antelope Valley. His good friend's son was on that flight. He was one of the government contractors on that flight. So sad. May all the crew RIP
