First lap and end of second moto Southwick 2011

This race was unbelievable live. It was so loud in the stadium you couldn't even hear the bikes. Last good race in the metrodome too. Dunge deserves all the credit he's gotten, and then some!

RD consistency and just plain class act makes him standout. No drama on or off the track. He’s what riders should emulate.

I can’t speak for other riders, but for me, I hated riding 500s at first. Too heavy, too much power when you didn’t need it, and not enough power if you were in too high a gear. I felt so much better on a light, snappy, flickable 250. But back then the main British championship was an open class. So, you could race a 250 if you liked, but you would always be at a horsepower disadvantage against 500s (and ridden by guys who knew how to race them!) I had both bikes. I would ride my 500 in practice...

Not when you ride ( hard !) on the PJ circuit, and just ( barely) into the Needle circuit, they don't........ 😁

No one who saw peak Dunge should ever forget how bad ass he was. Most underrated champ ever.

Most underappreciated all time great ever. You’d go out there and win 4 races in a row and only gain 12 points on him. Then one bad race and he gains 10 on you to essentially negate it all. I think he’s remembered a lot differently if his chain doesn’t derail in 2011 SX and he doesn’t run out of gas with two laps left in 2011 MX.

As I've written many times, the Modern Desmo is Not an Old Bevel or Single Desmo, with regards to upkeep / maintenance. I've dealt with Desmo engines now for quite a few decades. They , nowadays, have quite elongated ( unintentional Pun) Valve inspection intervals, and, very, very rarely need adjustment. The other thoughts about the CNC'd cases etc - possibly, but, I doubt it. We are looking at Works Bikes, Development bikes. I'd be very surprised if they didn't have cast casing etc, but, you never know, to get the first batch homologated for US racing, they may well...

Hi AI Kyle, they are probably fine goggles. As long as you avoid EKS Brand goggles you can't go wrong. EKS Brand is notorious for interfering with blood flow to your brain which results in an unstoppable urge to sue motocross tracks, therefore EKS Brand should be avoided at all costs.
