IIRC Right below the pipe is the cover for the water pump. You can take the bottom bolt out of the cover and drain alot of the anti-freeze. Or, you can take the whole cover off and the impeller comes out. The cover below that is to change the spring on the power valve. New bikes come with one or two springs. One spring let's the power valve open quicker and the other spring lets it open slower.

Got to give him a crisp fist pump after each session on the track, super proud of the kid. Was planing on racing Futures this year, came out for a try out a lil over threee weeks ago, moved to the other side of the country, and made his first main. Not far off a top ten too.

Take it easy on the guy, he threw himself is the gnarlest series on the planet with minimal experience. Once his riding became defensive, it looked like he was drowning in armpump. We'll never know. Although, after he fell, he did shake out his arm. He had a great heat race at 8 laps or whatever it is. 20min main with all that heat will take some getting used to, again. He's a Champion, he'll figure it out. It's what they do!

I honestly have never thought about the difference in feel between going from one type of metal frame to another before. Now that you mentioned it I thought my 08 YZ450F was good enough for me till I rode a new 2016 FC450 and in 3 minutes the handling sold me and had to go buy a KTM and I had never owned a KTM before.

Tested about every Honda since the 250R came out. what i have found is: 1st gen 250 2004-2009 Crf 250 Frame: flex is perfect for consumer not riding supercross. 2nd gen 450 2005-2008 Crf 450 Frame: flex is perfect for consumer not riding supercross 2nd gen 250 2010-2013 crf Crf250 Frame: flex is okay, frame is stiffer but can be cleaned up with linkage. Fork adjustment in clamps. clamps not needed just yet. 3rd gen 450 2009-2012 crf 450 frame: flex is not great. frame is stiffer but can be settled with Clamps, Linkage. Clamps needed. 3rd gen crf250 2014-2017...
