Ride there some, I’m about 45-60 minutes away which makes it the closest to my place. They’ve really put a lot of work into it over the last few years. It’s a nice track, especially if I don’t have a ton of time(all the others are 2.5-4 hours each way and involve passing through Seattle or a mountain pass, so they are a full, full day for me). The folks that run whidbey are also great people.

The kids place was only about a mile from the track, but sadly I never had a bike with me. I did go hang out on an open practice day a couple times. To be honest, the dirt was kinda shit. Looked like a fun track, on the smaller side layout-wise from what I'm used to, but still looked fun. My daughter and the son in law got transferred to Fort Leonardwood a couple months ago, so it will be a while before we make it back to Whidbey, but my wife LOVES that island, so we will definitely be...

I lived on Whidbey as a young boy. Clinton, on Humphreys Road at the top of the hill coming off the ferry. They used to have a track back in the day for a few years in Coupeville. I saw that there’s a track in that area again. Pretty cool.

The track is only about 40 minutes from my house, we ride there regularly. I know the track owner and his son, they do a good job with the area they available. I have rented the track a few times for private ride days, you can have up to 12 riders for a private track day so I grab 11...

Matty B is good folk! Dig his content and humor—I have added “that’s an ACL…” to my race-watching vocabulary.

Former pro privateer that raced a 2 stroke out of the back of a worn out pickup against the 450s and documented the struggle on social media. Kept getting banged up and realized making content was easier on the body and paid as good or maybe better. Announced at one of the Arenacross series this year for TV.

Summers are awesome. The other 9 months, not so much. I actually have clear pics of Westport.

And then we have The Seattle Freeze. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seattle_Freeze [quote]...Newcomers to the area have described Seattleites as socioculturally apathetic, standoffish, cold, distant, and distrustful. People from Seattle tend to mainly interact with their particular clique in social settings such as bars and parties. One author said of the aversion to strangers that "people are very polite but not particularly friendly"...According to data from the 2024 US Census survey, 43% of Washingtonians reported feeling lonely at least occasionally, one of the highest in the nation. In an early 2024 survey, half (50%) of young adults in Seattle reported feelings of loneliness. [b]The...

Be happy the women of Seattle wear trench coats instead of bikinis...unless you like your women hairy and pale. 😍

Having spent a decent amount of time on Whidbey Island the last couple years at my daughters place in Oak Harbor, I can confirm it is absolutely amazing up there once in a while. 😆

I've done some business trips there over the years and yes, it can be amazing. The ratio of amazing to "not so" amazing makes it "an amazing place to visit, but not to live" I much rather prefer warm to cold. I much rather enjoy the view of the better half of our species in bikinis vs trench coats. 😁 TM
