12 year old Kenny Banyan on a punched out 336 Honda 1973. No gloves , no hot shoe yet and no rear brake pedal. Notice the clutch lever and rear brake on the handle bar. First time racing the bike and one of my most memorable nights racing. I certainly surprised my dad.

1979. I remember seeing him at the British round of the GP’s that year. First year an MFG came out with a single shock mx bike. This, all day. It’s more fun to ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow. Starting on a bike that has more power than you’re ready to deal with means riding intimidated and slow. That or you’re constantly wadding yourself up. Wringing the neck of an underpowered bike makes you feel like a hero that can handle anything it might throw at you. Builds the confidence that will help you move up to bigger and faster bikes.

What are you planning on doing with the bike? Are you going to hit the track, riding trails, or putting around a property? That definitely matters in this situation. Either way, the only correct answer is a CR500.

I can ONLY imagine! 😬 My brother had a few horses over the years and I used to tell him that I was certain his 1 HP ride was trying to kill him in ways that our multi-HP rides were probably not capable of! I think horses are AWESOME but they sure do require effort & expense far beyond that of a motorbike! Both your pics are great! 😎 👍❗️
