I have mentioned this before, I watched Mike race his first national at Millville and he was very fast. Top 5 moto 1 til he ran out of gas. 2nd moto was similar but I dont remember what happened.
Fast forward, in 2011 I brought my kids out to Cali for A1. Age 5 and 7.
We were in the pits and we the kids wanted to get an autograph from JS. The line was super long.
Then the kids and I hear a voice. We looked over and it was Mike Alessi. “ I can sign your shirt if you want”. We walked his way and he was a great person. He then went in the team rig and brought my kids out a bunch of neat things.
My kids still remember this interaction and since then I always liked the guy.
