Well guys, it ended up being the valves. They were tight. Adjusted them and the bike runs perfectly. Appreciate all the insight!

I did actually. It turned out to be the cam chain tensioner failed. At low rpm the chain would float a little and change the timing just enough to let it slowly die out. Replaced cam chain and tensioner and it’s back in action

4/21/2025 11:32am I just weighed my 2023 KX450SR on my super accurate $29 Walmart bathroom scale.. using the front wheel first and then the back wheel next method and I was surprised when I added the two weights together..my bike with an empty tank of gas all the other fluids full..weighed only 232 lb..which I'm fairly confident is, I'd say prolly 99%...

Just did the first ride on my 2023 KX450 with the pro circuit link and knuckle installed, plus I have ride engineering 22 mm offset triple clamps raised 5mm..Frst thing I noticed right off the bat was how plush the rear end of the bike felt before I even started it just sitting on it nice and cushy actually I thought it would be too soft but it wasn't it just the ticket this bike needed..as someone stated above it's much plusher feeling in the rear and more stable feeling in motion.. although I know there's probably isn't the case...

I did this on my 2002 CRF450 (and many others). Performance wise, I didn't notice much difference. There are so many variations of exhausts available it can't be much different that either one end of the spectrum or the other. You can probably get another can for $100 on eBay if you mangle yours so it seem it would be worth the risk. On my Honda in 2002 I drilled the rivets from the back end of the can.
