9/27/2026 10:14am have you done that at 13,000 ft elevation in early spring with potential rock slides, melting snow/ice/mud on the trail with 1000' sheer drop offs next to you? Just be smart and safe out there and take nothing for granted. 🙂

9/27/2026 10:08am that guide looks xlnt for getting started. They mentioned preparedness which is critical on these adventures including Sat Comm of some type which is really smart. Here's another super important topic to be aware of: do NOT rely on trip mapping programs as your guide! Every year there are multiple backcountry rescues of unprepared tourists visiting and they rent an...

9/27/2026 9:54am We'll have 2 Jeep Rubicons and my basically stock TRD, 33's, Fox shocks, and rock sliders. We're just starting to research, here's a few that look fun. We're not about climbing up cooler sized rocks as much as finding "Cool bitchin roads and places" lol. A 4 low lockers on section is ok, but we don't want to do miles of it. 9 Best Trails For OHV and Off-Roading Near Durango, Colorado.

9/27/2026 7:36am Not sure what that guy was thinking on that reed cage but that's a butcher job. New cage and reeds will definitely help with the starting issue. Most folks don't think of reeds as a maintenance item but I change them every season. My 86 was getting a little more hit or miss on the 1 kick dead engine start so I put new reeds in and now it's been a hole shot machine. If you don't like the weak drum brake you can always do was I did and switch to the 81 YZ465 rear wheel and drum brake...

9/26/2026 9:09am May I offer this as someone who’s shit the bed on these matters a few times… Some of you have crossed into politics. I’d suggest backing away before we see ML’s new rules used in full effect.

9/26/2026 8:10am Hoik that Reed Cage! I just don't see how it could now, seal . I have to say it, that's a piece of absolute Butchery, that I could never see the benefit from. It's basically Open / a Plain Piston Port, now, when you consider the air / mixture demands at Start and idle. Time for a Moto Tassinari / V Force, Boyesen or Mossbarger, if they are still available.

9/26/2026 8:07am I live 50 miles frum Durango and have been to Ouray several times (also Silverton in between) but have not off-roaded extensively either. I've got friends that have and know there's plenty of legal trails and even companies that have organized guided day adventures in the off-road areas. There are some really informative online videos about Ouray especially. Would like...

9/26/2026 7:58am cool history and story. I use the K.I.S.S. principal vs. chasing the latest and greatest tech all the time. Especially when it's a limited use item in my life. I deliberately research items I may buy and know exactly which features fit my needs and nothing more. Unfortunately, I've had to settle for included features or upgrades to get the...

9/26/2026 7:45am I think that I've gotten spoiled by so many free shipping offers that it's made me numb to the potential costs. Had to place a very small Grainger order today and for the sub-$30 item the ground shipping (arrives in 8 days) was almost half the cost of the item! I almost think that they might make more profit on the shipping than on the items themselves! Do companies like Grainger, ULine, etc. have vastly different shipping rates for a consumer vs if you are a 'Business' account?

9/26/2026 7:44am It’s terrible what the average person is charged for shipping- Granger doesn’t pay shit …they are making money on those shipping charges. My company has unbelievable rates - I can ship shit next day early delivery from WI to Houston for like $6 …they would probably charge $100 for some guy who walks into a UPS store..

9/26/2026 7:44am There are BIG differences in rates between a big company shipping 1000's of packages and a smaller and then onto the personal level. There are some ways for smaller bossiness to get better rates . Ship station seemed reasonable , the last time I looked into it. But unless you have a steady volume its gonna cost you a lot more than the bigger companies who fill up trucks everyday. Last I looked, FedEx was the least expensive for shipments that were picked up from your business. Out of Fedex , USPS and UPS . With a business account it...

9/26/2026 7:42am I'm just a private party that rarely ships anything so none of the account-based discounts apply to me. USPS Flat Rate boxes were always my preferred way to go- but the whole "dimensional Weight" surcharge screws you on sending things like exhaust pipes, forks, etc. Had to do that and a motor weighing 51 lbs this year all the way...

9/26/2026 7:35am UPS stores are exactly that, a store that matks up the price. If you go on the UPS website and do your own label, it'll be much cheaper. The store marks up the retail price of the UPS service. Organize your own shipping online direct with UPS and then just drop off at any UPS Store. But yes shipping rates are stupid high these days.

9/26/2026 7:34am that's the thing, I use the UPS site to get my estimates and print them out and go to the UPS store- then everything changes because all the add Ons don't appear using the website. I found this out way back around 2000. Never tried printing a label because it usually required an account or 3rd party SW account (and...

9/25/2026 7:16pm I think people confuse Capitalism with our actual Laissez Faire based system of economics and government. I won't paste the AI slop summarized bullet points on this. The wiki does it better. See here if interested: Laissez-faire - Wikipedia

9/25/2026 7:02pm It's one of those things that sounds good, but quickly becomes enormously complex and often ends up being anti-capitalist. You kind of have to go back to the beginning and ask ourselves what kind of country we are. Do we believe so strongly in specific principles that we adopt them as purely as we can and let the chips fall where they may no matter what, or are we seeking a specific result and are willing to shape the country however is necessary to achieve that result? We were originally setup as the former, but people are losing sight of...

9/25/2026 2:32pm some economists swear by the long-haul trucking industry as the best predictor of an expanding or contracting economy. Rail hauls a lot of goods long distance point to point. but it is the truckers that go local distributer and last mile to fill our stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc. where us consumers notice it most. When long established trucking lines...

9/25/2026 7:58am Fun fact. JT’s original product was MX socks. They were actually soccer socks bought in Tijuana Mexico, (TJ) brought across the border and resold as moto socks. They reversed the letters, turned TJ into JT, and it took off from there.
