8/4/2023 12:24pm They had a few big name riders on the bandwagon for a bit. I think the KTM boys, or at least Marv, was really into it.

8/4/2023 7:51am With RC taking the sport to a level of fitness and preparation, training is mandatory obviously. Have you heard of any strange training or fitness programs riders have tried (allegedly)? As a former personal trainer, it would blow my mind to hear what people were willing to do to lose weight. I'm sure there will be some Ryno comments in...

8/1/2023 9:58pm They held a race once a year in the common just outside Mildenhall RAFB UK. Beck Row specifically. I lived in the GI filled low rent houses that abutted the common. Track was laid out with some banners and stakes on virgin grass. Slick as snot on a doorknob until the soil was exposed...then it became the most glorious traction I have ever ridden. The old 400 was on rails. I still love the memory of that place.

8/1/2023 7:46am Unadilla 1997 - finally after many years as a kid watching my MX heros out the original National / Grand Prix / Trans-Am track I was out on the very same track! This was before any of the new sections and air launching jumps were added. It was quoted by another racer that was also experiencing moto-nirvana for the very first time that it was like "racing in a humongous flower pot of planting soil". It was grass in practice and quickly churned up into deep-black topsoil. Surprisingly not really many rocks of any significance which I remember was a...

7/31/2023 8:11pm Damn that looks deep! Would you say it's similar to the sugar sand in Florida? I've ridden trails in central Florida that looked similar to that when didn't rain.

7/31/2023 8:10pm I think there has to be some serious elevation changes for any real motocross track to be the "best" (and that's always had me wondering about why Lorretta's is the location of the Nt'l Championships). With that in mind, the best track I've been to is Farleigh Castle. It has heritage going back to the 30's, loads of long hills, varied terrain, and is only used twice a year so it starts out on grass. Back-up locations would be Castillo Ranch (a private paradise) and Washougal in the late 80's (when the soil hadn't been ground and scraped into mush)...

7/31/2023 8:09pm From D-23: Favorite is Millville hands down. Dirt is always really good and multiple lines forming always makes line choices very important. If you like charging down hills, you can't beat it. My close 2nd is Brookston. Really soft loose dirt, nearly sand, but it has big rocks in it like Unadilla or Binghamton. That's the only down side besides not many jumps. But the whole track is in a valley as well, always up or down a hill. Best sand track: Grantsburg, WI. It is an actual sand track, not like that shallow crap Southwick claims is "sand". Grantsburg...

7/31/2023 8:08pm I lived in the house at the bottom of the pic with the pool. My childhood was spent roaming around those fields and woods playing pond hockey, building forts, riding bikes, and as you can see, riding moto. My brothers laid out that track and it was black loam and grass and I could be on it from my garage in less than 5 minutes. I don't know if any of us ever found out who owned the land, and no one ever bothered us, so we sent it. Has anyone invented a time machine yet?

7/31/2023 8:07pm I've watched friends out there and it blows my minds how good the soil is. At first, I expected it to be rock hard, but when they water it, some of the corners look incredible.
