It was a big drought year (1977) in California. All the lakes were super low or dry, so my Dad and his Boat/Ski Club brought their dirt bikes to Black Butte Lake instead of their boats. We were all riding around on different parts of the dry lake and it was a blast. Kids, Dads, and even some Moms, must have been over 30 bikes, Had a crash I still remember to this day, my XR75 was "tapped" out and then the ground disappeared. Launched it over a blind 3 or 4 ft. drop and it was yard sale time...

I loved going to Marineland. Went there quite a few times over the years. They used to have a machine that you put a quarter or 2 in and it would pop out a wax model of Bubbles the whale or a Sea Horse etc. They'd still be warm when they popped out lol. Marineland of the Pacific was way way cooler than Sea World. We drove through Portuguese Bend a couple months ago. The whole area between Malibu Canyon Rd and 27 (Topanga Canyon BLVD) was our playground. We lived off Mulholland HWY and Stunt Rd in Calabasas. A lot of that area is now developed heavily near the 101.....but along Mulholland HWY, it's still pretty untouched. Fire roads...hidden tracks everywhere back then. You'd get arrested today doing what we did back then. The best track was right next to the 27 near the top and unbelievably, that land is STILL undeveloped. This thread is so cool. It’s just like sitting around a campfire talking about the good old days with riding buddies that I’ve known forever . No division in here at all !!! Yes the legendary JC Agajanians multi use racetrack in Gardena. Evil Knevil before he was big time did a jump on the infield that helped launch his career. Surprisingly, I can only recall going there once when they had Motocross on the infield. Flattrack racing with Hardley Davidson's dominance did not interest me much, but I did like to go to Speedway racing at Irwindale raceway.

Rumor has it that the piece of his tooth that got chipped off was pocketed by Davey Coombs and fashioned into a guitar pick worthy of the gods. If Eli can ever find it and become complete by reattaching it, he will rise up and rule the Motocross world again.

As I've said in other threads...Levi doesn't have the mental strength of a champion....maybe this will help get him there... Allowing all your championship competitors line up inside and run you wide....Unadilla and Ironman Allowing Connolly to pass you back in the last turn because of your lack of awareness...also Unadilla Making the decision to go to the grass outside of the markers and getting docked for it....Budds Total mental meltdown at Ironman.... I played B-ball in 7th and 8th grade. Our practice was before school so one of the coaches would give a few of us a ride to school. I remember seeing the marine animal shows when I was a kid, and getting busted for partying there once it closed down as a teen The hill is what we refer to as PV (Palos Verdes ) even though it’s a few different cities up there.
