Tomac has competed in 4 nations events and has been the clear best US rider in the first 3 and went 1-6 in 2022. Pretty much cruised in the second moto. AP has had 1 good MXON moto and underperformed in the other 3. This is a good problem to have. You can go with a legend who is motivated to go after not racing motocross in 2 years or you could go for a guy riding the best he ever has and wants to redeem himself in the worst way for the USA.

Mxon isn’t tomorrow is it? It weeks away and I’d put a million dollars on it by then Tomac would be back to leaving AP for dead

Uh, 2022? It’s extremely relevant. Same reason why AP’s 18th without a crash last year is relevant

Tomac isn’t some bum trying to validate himself by being on the team. If he says he is ready and wants to go, end of story. Send him.

I already agreed it would be a good choice for both parties if he signs with Triumph. Y'all just can't handle MY OPINION that I think he needs to retire because of all his crashes, literally every year since he's started. Its not like its a small crash or tip over and he's fine. These are injury inducing crashes he has. Its not like its bad luck, its self inflicted at this point. Its a pattern with him. But he needs new scenery.

I haven’t dodged this question. I’ve answered it twice. My first choice would have been Adams, my second choice would be waiting a year for more of the paddock’s contracts to end, and not lighting $250k on fire. Nothing to me says they absolutely must hire someone. They have Smith and Swoll.

There’s a part of me that wants to see Austin “Capture the Flag” for the Paytons… But, if he gets an amazing offer from Bobby…AND if he likes the bike? More power to him. All the while…as a dude that goes by “TeamGreen”…I’m all about ProCircuit Monster Kawasaki Kicking Ass in 2025 and I’d be extremely stoked if Austin was a part of it. I’m jus’ saying’… Manny

It brings up the dichotomy that exists in the US MX and SX series. On one hand it's trying to maintain the tradition of privateers being able to rock up at a national and have a go; on the other it's promoting itself as the premier MX and SX series in the world, where some local pro can be on the same track as the best riders in the world even though he's not even in the same zip code speed wise. It's a pretty unique circumstance for an elite sporting series. Lappers is one part of the issue, but...
