Nothing to do with US motocross when the other mxgp riders have the same or better results in the US, like Guillod and Paturel. And a 39 yo Cairoli gets top 10 with almost a stock bike. Id say that the MXdN is a one off race where you see miracle performances. Now it's 2025 and hes racing a full mx season and getting smoked. Is it a mystery though? It’s pretty clear Prado is frustrated and is putting in no effort. He just rolls around at this point. He may not be happy with where the bike is at, but there’s also blame on him for not trying to make the best of it and atleast put his heart into a somewhat decent result. His attitude around the whole thing is pretty shitty imo.

His “the bike sucks!” routine is old news and it’s becoming more and more apparent that he just can’t hang in US motocross. The things he said in that latest interview certainly don’t match any of his performances this year. If I were him, I’d keep my mouth closed about the bike ,because it’s to the point now, where he looks kinda dumb. JT seemed to give a little elbow to Steve to make sure he kept the lead. Maybe just camera perspective though. JT had nothing to win and everything to lose with this challenge; he's expected to win so he'd better! Credit to him for being a good sport about it and accepting Steve's challenge.

That's a 10 second a lap difference, either he's out of shape or he's saying fuck it and is cruising around. Not a good luck for kawi or prado. Partnership is shaky at this moment.

Eli also did plenty of weirdo fucking around rides on the kawi. He pretty much threw away, what 2 or 3 championships due to massive inconsistency and “off” nights. Eli did what he did on the kawi because he was just that much better then his competitors, not because that bike was good. Even if prado had his bike perfect and was firing on all cylinders, I still think Jett would be beating him. But he is certainly a lot better then he’s showing. Im sure the bike isn’t the only factor in his poor performance, but its definitely holding...

Lewis might be the only true journalist in the sport at the moment. He’s not a jerk, but asks the uncomfortable questions we all have and nobody else has the balls to ask. At this point, I only watch Lewis’s pre and/or post race interviews anymore. Great work!

It is ridiculous, and not far fetched

It’s a common theme over the years, international riders tend to speak with a directness that is often misinterpreted in the US.

I am wondering if having Reed around is from a PR perspective somewhat detrimental. We know Reed will never shy away from speaking his mind. Which is something that Jorge should stop at this point because he sounds like a broken record. We heard it. Everyone heard it. Probably even the Kawasaki bosses heard it. There is no quick fix. It’s time for actions to speak louder than words. Even if they will come later.

Maybe it was the delivery by Prado. He isn't sugar coating anything, that's for sure. Saying "I'm not doing anything wrong, I know what I'm capable off" just sounds more rough than Tomacs "We are not feeling that good as of now on the new gen bike outdoors". But yeah.. They are basically saying the same lol

Anyways, I really hope he gets better and stays in it, the first half of both Southwick Motos showed the speed Prado can ride even on a bike he isn't comfortable on. That would have been a podium for sure if he didn't had those stupid crashes in the end..

That's why it was an excellent interview. It's not the media's job to blow their subjects. They're supposed to ask tough questions. The trouble is in moto - unlike most other domains - the subjects (teams and riders) think it's okay to blacklist anyone who encroaches on their safe spaces. Of course some moto 'journalists' would continue deepthroating even if this wasn't the case. I'm looking at you Swap.

And that’s the biggest problem. Get humble and get to work. If the team can’t fix it maybe it’s not the team…. Maybe the riders input isn’t up to par.

I’d say there’s some pretty stark contrast between the two interviews. Tomac seems reluctant to even mention the bike and takes full accountability for going in the wrong direction while Prado literally said it’s not up to him whether his results improve this year or not. Prado’s interview just comes across as if he’s putting all the blame on the team.

To be clear: I think Jorge was 'that way' with me because he's comfortable with me. We sat and talked for like 90 minutes after press day, so no issues.

The whining about the bike is annoying, but it's also bullshit. MXGP guys he used to beat are beating him on nearly stock bikes. Mitchell Harrison also on a kawasaki has beaten him. Barcia coming off of injury on a bike that he doesn't love that has put him on the ground this year is beating him. If you're getting 3rd every week and you want to say the bike is the reason you're not winning, OK..... but the bike isn't the main issue here. This season is a total bust already. Kawasaki has two more years of this unless...
