That story doesn't make sense though. Right before Blair quit, he got the chance to move to other sports to do some play by play (IIRC lacrosse or something) and he said that he was getting more opportunities to expand and grow. Perhaps he wasn't treated well on the moto side, but by his own words he was getting opportunities outside of moto which is what you would want if you actually want a career in announcing.

If you only just heard of Leigh this year I seriously question how closely you follow this sport.

DB’s the best person for the job and didn’t get it due to others insecurities. The best person should have gotten the job. Maybe it does happen all the time in business but this is our hobby. Personally I don’t like the idea of looking back 20 years from now and hearing Ricky’s 30,000 foot view or Leigh’s accent.

Also, for those relating this as common to their personal life situations. They also don’t (I’m assuming) have tens-hundreds of thousands of people curious about your situation and why you left your job. I’m also assuming you aren’t getting floods of comments on social media, topics on forums discussing it, getting asked everyday/weekend at local races, podcasts you’re on, as to why you made said decision. IMO it just lines up with what Blair is saying. RC is Mr corporate and wants to get nice and close to big daddy business and now that he is, he has to wait for his boss to run to his defense with an official statement. Honestly, nothing Blair said in his Whole Truth video is scandalous. It is standard corporate politics where folks align to protect their positions and management may favor connections/clout over competence. But the 2023 Arlington Blair's Breakdown video is the one incident where Ricky is just indefensible. To step on camera while a teammate is filming their recorded production segment just to belittle and embarrass them in front of fans (customers) in a goofy power play is wildly unprofessional, and it comes across that way in the video.

And? Why can't RC defend himself? If it's as bad as that comment implies, and RC would come out looking BETTER, why can't he defend himself? Because of the position he's in? Sounds like "defending" himself might do more harm than good, huh? Of course there is another side to this, like everything in life.
