Who wins the Holeshot Challenge

Very entertaining. 

Matthes has dropped 5 dress sizes. 

JT looks V fit. 

JT$ made a meal of one start, hilarious. 

It was funny too when HL96 an JL18 approached Matthes and spewed advice. 

Dazzy apparently had his bet on Matthes. 

One question remains. WTF is a Manitoba? 

JT$ has done actual gate drops that count with McGrath , Carmichael Reed , Stewart , Poto and Dungey.   Doubt he was sweating Matthes too much 

Matthes did better than I thought! Would’ve been interesting if they were both on paddle tires but the outcome probably would’ve been the same anyway. 

Can't really blame Steve for being unwilling to hold the throttle wide open down the entire straight .. shit probably felt like warp speed ..lol. 

JT looked good for a guy who hasn't rode in 3 years. 

JT seemed to give a little elbow to Steve to make sure he kept the lead. Maybe just camera perspective though. JT had nothing to win and everything to lose with this challenge; he's expected to win so he'd better! Credit to him for being a good sport about it and accepting Steve's challenge. 

JT actually deserves a lot of respect here. He literally had nothing to win and could really only break even or lose. I actually dont know why he even agreed to do this. If he won hes supposed to win, but if he lost hed never hear the end of it for the rest of his life. Anyways that was a lot of fun and its nice to see the lighthearted stuff with the guys messing around. 

The funniest part is steve actually coulda won a few starts but he kept shutting it off way before the line. That was one aspect I had never even considered as a factor. It makes sense in hindsight because it probably was scary as hell for him to be wide tf open on a full factory hrc 450. He probably felt like he was on a top fuel dragster. Anyways awesome race and I hope JT backs off a smidge on saying hes not gonna talk any crap and instead maybe talks a little bit of crap. 

I actually think if Steve was able to do enough practice starts and get over the natural tendency to modulate throttle that this could have been pretty close. Seemed like he let the revs drop every time. 

I do wish they would have switched bikes for a couple just to get a better picture of what the bike is doing vs the rider. Also would have been cool to have Jett line up few gates over and destroy both of them. Maybe next year! 

Steve looked like a Spode next to JT. Just goes to show you the talent even long retired pros still possess.  

Put me on that factory Honda and it would have been a disaster. I wouid have used the entire width of the start straight before making it to the first turn upside down 

He still rides a street bike.

Add 70 pounds to JT to equal out the weight and it would be a lot closer. 

It would be cool if they had a holeshot challenge at every race, with either a celebrity or race attendee/lottery winner. Yes, I know it wouldn't be practical for liability reasons or factory teams. It just seemed like fun and got alot of people talking about it. 

I remember in Supercross they had some celebrity holeshot challenge with NASCAR drivers

I assume Feld saw Bowyer hit the wall, and decided they won't be doing that again!
