What’s not to like? Reedy gets a job getting paid for his passion, Tate gets to upskill, family has a fun place to live, and Club gains some invaluable experience. Seems like win-win to me. Even if it doesn’t work out in the long run, I bet it’ll be a time they’ll all look back on fondly.

The other item to note is that if Wasserman had not separated when there was any hint of impropriety though their own internal investigation, they could have been indicted as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the prosecution filed for a gag order if those two ding dongs don't shut up about the case on social media.

I believe in federal proceedings sentencing recommendations come after a conviction, and would be at the judge's discretion (subject to any mandatory sentencing guidelines) informed by findings of fact based on evidence at trial. Someone with federal criminal law practice can correct me. To the extent there a plea negotiations the potential prison time certainly would come up.

Indeed. The sooner he recognizes that the better. He doesn’t have to admit guilt now but he should at least STFU about being the victim so he doesn’t present as someone who lacks remorse. Courts are more lenient with a contrite defendant.

Haven't read them. Noting generally that prosecutors have discretion whether to file charges, don't usually do unless they feel they have a strong case (they hate losing), and the victim more often than not does not have a lot of influence in the decision unless it is a politically sympathetic party who will get a lot of press before the larger public (beyond our little community) and the prosecutor would look bad not pursuing the matter. Also conviction in a criminal case requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt, which is a much higher standard than the burden of proof in...

I always think about that. I had a minor crash at Cahuilla on a small double and I felt like I could barely lift myself off the ground. I watch Chase and Deegan when they have insane crashes, and they bounce up and run to the bike like it was absolutely nothing.

I don't think we realize how hard he actually slams. His SMX crash would have killed me.
