MxKyle (MD) Added a reply to Shoulder injury?

It took me six months to decide it was just not going to get better. I told myself every day I was recovering but I was just learning to manage my disability. Finally gave up and got it fixed and never looked back. --KT--

Regardless which you buy the very first thing you need to do is insulate the roof. Most don't come insulated and they are freaking hot all the time. I used Styrofoam glued to the roof and 1/8 inch plywood under that. It looks good adn works so much better that I retreat into the trailer sometimes if I can't fine...

Old thread but... this shirt was produced for the local motocross track about 2000 I think. About the time the "got Milk" commercials were out. The funny part is that they didn't even ask me if it was ok to put a picture of me on the shirt. When I pointed that out they gave this one to me. ...

Great point about not scaring her off at the beginning. Don't take her to a motocross track as her first experience. That's the fastest way to get her intimidated and ruin her chances of growing into something she can enjoy. I started my wife off in a flat field learning to start and stop. I put out two cones and...

Depends on her personality. My wife grew up a tomboy and was very competitive at everything. When I met her she was repelling off a 20 story building. She was 43 years old 5"7" and in great shape when she decided she wanted to learn to ride. I taught her to ride my YZ125 and she then took ownership. Within...

That would be absolutely correct but probably more important would be that I didn't fully model the structure under the truck or the frame of the trailer. Overall I decided the drag induced by those areas are negligible compared to the drag of the forward facing structure. The results from the proof of concept test drive showing only a couple...

I got hit in the leg from behind by a 490 Maico in the early 80's. Broke my leg and shattered my ankle. I have two screws just like those in my left ankle. They are still there with no problems and I have competed in marathons with no ill effects other than throwing up. KT

It was 1985 and I was at Gatorback for the Loretta Lynn qualifier. I had to race the Pro-Am class because I had qualified and made pro points at the Orlando Supercross that year. A buddy and rival named Alan Andrews had won the first moto with me trailing behind a fast-moving Team Green freight train and finishing fourth. I...

I have been using two way communication radios in my training classes for 2 years now, I can say it has completely changed my opinion for the better when I use to question if it’s a distraction because every rider has enjoyed it, especially kids which I see the biggest improvements using the comms with. I have also kept my riders from running into trouble from downed riders and even being a second set of eyes for when they get on and off the track it has helped us avoid problems. I always check to make sure the rider can...

I remember the first thing they taught us in the road racing school I attended is never let your eyes follow the rider/bike in front of you when he goes down. At race speed you should be close to the edge of 'safe' already and if you lose focus on your own timing you will surely follow that bike right...

Entertain yourselves with some real data. I am always amazed how much force is applied to the road in front of the truck as the pressure wave is pushed along. This is with a topper but runs without the topper were not much worse. In other words the addition of a topper didn't help much in reducing the drag. Before...
