MxKyle (MD) Added a reply to Flat front trailer vs V-nose 6x12
9/23/2019 6:11pm These posts are killing me because I actually have all the answers but haven't completed the follow up. Like everyone else I bought an enclosed trailer and was appalled by how bad my mileage was. From 23 to 10 or 11 mpg and I was routinely doing 1200 mile trips. Unlike everyone else I am a senior mechanical engineer with...

7/15/2019 10:47am Let me be one of the first.... My original MXKyle screen name was changed when Motodrive was absorbed into Vital. I knew the original Redrider (RIP). He worked for me in Orlando. Jim1934 is my father and still riding at 84 years old. Vital was a little too rough around the edges so he quit posting several years ago. KT

5/9/2019 4:21am I run odd wheels on hard pack tracks. I have a spare rear wheel with a black rim with a hard pack tire mounted that I switch out depending on the track. I've owned this black wheel a while and I'm not about to change rims just because it doesn't go with the prevailing paint scheme. I make up for...
MxKyle (MD) Added a reply to 2 Stroke Mixing Ratios Question
5/1/2019 11:17am Been mixing at 50:1 since... well, lets just say 'a long long time' with no oil related failures. This included a short pro career. Modern oils lube plenty and the higher the oil content the hotter the bike runs. --KT--
MxKyle (MD) Added a reply to 3D printed dirtbike parts - UPDATE
4/4/2019 10:28am Yep, it's close enough for government work. BTW, I design F35 training simulators and got kudos for bringing 3D printed duplicates into that industry instead of using original aircraft parts. It's hard to buy aircraft parts when the bird assembly line is always short. (That is kind of a joke too. I visited that assembly line and there is nothing...

4/4/2019 5:34am I don't really thing they plan on scanning or printing any dirt bike parts that need a 10:1 TAR.

MxKyle (MD) Added a reply to Updated: Just heard the neck brace study segment on Pulp
3/28/2019 10:59am I thought for a second that I was wrong, but I was mistaken. So I went back and read it again and no where does the study make any assumptions on the percentage of people who were using neck braces as opposed to not using neck braces at any event or place. The stats are only about those hurt with...
MxKyle (MD) Added a reply to Updated: Just heard the neck brace study segment on Pulp
3/28/2019 5:09am Thank you! I had to take a few statistics classes and the first thing that jumped out at me when reading of this study was that they intentionally left off the data showing the total quantity of wearers vs non wearers during the time of the study. That is including the non-injured riders. Unfortunately, I don't believe there is anyway...

3/21/2019 5:04am I hate to tell you but it's not the money. I just looked up the value of the dollar then relative to now adjusted for inflation and that adjustment is 4.7. So your $9000 bike would have cost $1900 in 1975 which is about what people were paying for the current top of the line equipment then. So it was...

MxKyle (MD) Added a reply to One more box trailer thread. 6x12 questions
2/5/2019 12:31pm The very reason I own my current trailer is because a Honda dealer assured the previous owner that a Honda Pilot’s 1650 LBS towing capacity would have no problem pulling this 1250 LBS trailer. They were half right. The Honda had no problem towing around town but they didn’t factor in the air drag at highway speeds. Poor thing couldn’t...

2/1/2019 4:35am If you live in my neck of the woods the extra axle will cost you several hundred dollars a year in tolls. Here in Orlando we have the highest toll per mile rate in the country and they bill by axle. I have a 6x12 single axle that I pull two (sometimes three) bikes every weekend and at least two...

12/5/2018 4:07am Oh, you got a groan out of me with this. I chased my tail for six months trying to clean up the drag when STEMCO had the answer written in bold letters on their web page. "SAE Certified to deliver 5.54% fuel efficiency gains at 65 mph based on SAE Type II testing VALIDATED by the U.S. EPA" That's right...
