#808

I used to produce music, specifically drum&bass, and my favorite bass sound came from using the attack and then looping 1 sine wave of the bass kick sound from the Roland TR 808 drum machine. It was all about the 808's so when I had to pick a number, that was the one significant number in my life.

168.
My great grandfather was #68 and was very much fast enough to run it in the 50's and 60's. He raced Daytona back when it was just a beach and was a southwestern champion.Any way I ran 68 for a few years till I heard about running three numbers so I put a 1 in front of it. I figure since I started with a 1 that if any of my kids or grandkids want to run something like it they still have 2-9 to go. I also wouldn't be opposed to them running it as well.

As a kid I always loved Donald Duck, so in 1983 when I started racing I wanted to have #313 like his car, but you couldn't choose your number back then, so I got 197 and then 250
When I started racing again 5 years ago rules were different so I got it!

I was four years old at the local dealership, and my dad and I were rushing to go set up for my fourth birthday party. I grabbed three numbers that I thought were James Stewart's on the back of my motocross stuffed animal. I not young enough to really comprehend that his number is 259, not 219. But here I am running 219 sixteen years later.

I ran all kids of # but in 98 I got my AMA pro license and they assigned me the #976 never peeled it off 😎

Also assigned my number, 565, by the AMA when I turned pro. I broke a vertebra before I could break into the top 100 so never had a two digit pro number to be proud of.

#511 I originally wanted #11 but when I signed up for my first race back in 1995 I had to put an X because someone already had it. Then I got the letter in the mail stating that they assigned me #511. Have stuck with it since.

#85 The local track (Milan Cycle City) told me to pick the last 2 or 3 digits of my membership number and I didn't want to run 385. It also helped that I was lying on my age saying I was born in 1985 to meet the 16yr old minimum as I was 14 at the time.

I originally had #45, since Bradshaw was my favorite pro. CMC made me add an “A” to it.

When the AMA took over, I switched to the last three of my AMA # which was 975.

Used to ride with #23 because of Michael Jordan, but after seeing Jimmy D's video's i switched to #613.

773 it was my number I was given at Ponca second year I went liked how it looked so stayed with it. Before that ran 6 for Landon and 67 for my 67 Nova. Have been 773 for 20+ years. My son runs 222 because I told him you have to run 3 digit so he went 222 for triple Villopoto and because he found a picture of Cairoli on a KTM with Axo gear like he wore.
67 Nova, now I’m jealous lol. Love those old Novas! My old man has a 72! Okay, okay back to moto!

I used to be a James Bond fan but didn’t want to use 007.
I started using 07 but then I couldn’t use that number on most video games I played so I switched to 700. In Kart Racing I couldn’t use 700 so I chose 34 because 3 + 4 = 7.
Now all my bikes have either 34 or 700 on them.

I used to roll with #439 an assigned cmc number. But i switched to #90 because my friends were #91 and #92 and I was faster than them. So i switched to #90 just to sorta rub it in.

112 because at the time no pro had that. Still is pretty uncommon to see. Didn’t want to get asked at the track if I liked xyz rider because I had that number

I've been rocking it since 1988. My buddy already had 46 so I thought we would look really cool rolling into the track with semi-related numbers in our quest for 125C class glory! Some people thought I did it because I was a big Stanton fan but I actually wasn't trying to fanboy it.

I have to admit...I get sorta ticked when some other joker shows up in my moto with MY number and I have to add an X or a slash!!

I keep waiting for another pro to have an awesome year with that number but it never seems to work out. Maybe next year....

# 70 My first racing # ever, got it back in 1981 my first season with NEMA (New England Mini Cycle Asso.) I requested #7 which was my Dads' # when he raced, but single digit #'s were reserved for prior season's championship point totals. They gave me #70 and I managed to keep it for most of the next 31 years that I raced. It's a great # for football but decent for MX too.

February 16th Birthday, been rocking 216 since my first year racing in 1992! My 4 year old is 810, you guessed it, August 10th! All of of my little cousins and nephews run their birthdays too. I always thought birthday numbers were cool because its something kinda personal. I have a lot of moto buddies and its interesting how many of them have just randomly picked their numbers.

"We are 138" - The Misfits
My riding friends and I from junior high and high school used to blast this song getting dressed in the pits and got the nickname from other riders as "the 138 kids". Always stuck with it.
