Ahh. The jealousy and envy is thick in here. Like KTM or not, the FE is a fantastic bike. And for those of us who like to trick out our bikes. With OUR money. That WE earn. The extra $1,000 or so over the standard model is a bargain. Anodized Wheelset. Titanium Akropovic silencer. KTM's own version of the X-trig ROC clamps. Exclusive graphics. Chain. Sprocket. Holeshot device. Disc guard. You couldn't touch that on the aftermarket for $1,000. All the bikes are great at this point. From the bargain platform like the Suzuki that you can personalize as economically...

Any chance of a mini shootout/comparison between this and the Yamaha and KTM XC bikes?

Motul 800, 50:1. It's clean, smells good, and worth the money.

Can’t get any better than Motul 800. I’ve always ran it at 50:1 in my YZ 250 with great success.

My dyno consistently reports removing the spacer looses 1 hp from bottom to top on the yz I continue to read people say otherwise - but havent seen anyone publish a test showing removed its better Ill retest it next yz I have for dyno work and try to republish it- but just throwing it out there on my experience with it. Ive done somewhere around 3000 yz250 dyno pulls to date.... and tested just about everything you can name. Curiously - most of the time a short or long pc vs pc dynos the same. Often the stock silencer...

There could be a million reasons for HD to bounce, and not all of them would have to do with anything wrong with Alta itself. And I haven't double-checked the stats posted, but if all they spent was $43m over 8 years, and built what seems to be the best dirt bike ever IMO, that's amazing, not shameful. I work for a startup that's burned through about the same amount in the same amount of time, and we're just building software and just starting to think about how to become profitable—hardware is much more costly and difficult. Look at what...

I think one of my favorite things about working in marketing in the motorcycling industry for a decade was constantly watching a small, niche, group of enthusiasts constantly tear themselves apart. Forget the non-motorcycling public, we do a fantastic job of shitting all over each other. Ride a Harley? Get fucked. Oh you are into crotch rockets? Squid! Motobro? Grow up 909'er. Hipster ass on the hooligan bike cut your hair. Yo electric company, you have no soul eat shit. AND SO ON. Motorcycling in the United States is a dying industry and partly because the people that partake in...

I have the 2019 Husky TX300 and yes the 2019 Husky TC250/TX300 got the updated chassis and plastic just like the 2018.5 FC450 Rockstar Edition. The chassis has more precise steering response. The new plastic slims down the ergo's especially in the rear. The new seat is comfortable too. I am not aware of any counterbalancer updates (which was applied...

I have 2018 RFX48 forks and Flow shock. Work great on my FC450. Overall very friction free and plush movement from the suspension which is especially noticeable on rough and hardpack tracks. The forks give the front end a connected to the ground feel and supple on the little chop (great front end traction). Rear shock works well on acceleration...

You people that think the Mikuni carb is junk and temperamental and whatever word salad you want to throw at it are nuts. I swear so many ppl like to pretend they are the ultimate mechanics that knows all and if you don’t do it their way THE BIKE WONT RUN AT ALL. Stock, yeah it’s heaping shit. However. You throw a JD Jet kit in it- and it’s a badass carb that works phenomenal. I’ve been riding the same settings since April. It’s a $100 performance part I would’ve bought with a Keihin too. But this is vital and...

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like the engine is not much different? The cylinder head is new so I thought it might have different power character...maybe less friction and more free rev? I have a 19 300XC and the new ergo's are better for me: the radiator shrouds are lower and slimmer on the upper side with a smoother transition...

The stock jetting is rich. I went with the option needle that came with the bike (4275) in the 2nd position. With your elevation I would lean the main 1~2 steps (stock is 450 so try 440 or 430). That should make it run a lot better!

I owned the 17/18 Husky TX300's and spent some time spinning a few laps on the 17/18 KTM 300XC's so I am familiar with the current KTM/Husky 2-stroke 300's. Did get to ride the bike this past Sunday at a local MX track. My Initial impressions of the bike and 2019 changes: Steering is more precise - front end feels...

Reading the press info the intake boot was modified for better flow, the 250/300 get machined exhaust port (power valve area), new expansion chamber, new silencer. Not sure about retro fitting to 17/18 as the 19 300XC engine is rotated 1 degree also. A lot of small changes add up to a refined version of the 17/18 engine.

All the chassis updates from the 450 Factory Edition (frame stiffer in torsion, updated swingarm, radiators lower, new plastic with thinner front and a little sleeker rear, new airbox and air boot, PV tweaks, all new pipe). Jetting was same as 18 300XC so stock is rich - I just use the option needle in 2nd position and might go...
