Hey gang! I'm resurrecting this thread I started a couple months ago to give an update on my decision. I ended up selling my RMZ 250 within about 2 weeks of posting, so I was excited to hop on something new sooner than expected. I found this thread to be tremendously helpful, and one post in particular caught my attention. @carlinojoevideo asked if I considered a 350... something I had not at the time. Well, after reading mostly stellar reviews and finding a 2018 leftover that was quite a bit less than 450s, I took the plunge. I have about...

As someone who grew up riding BMX and now has a dirt jump bike and an enduro bike, in other words I love riding bicycles, my next bike will definitely be an eMTB. Anyone whose ridden a dirt bike around a track should know that having a motor does not automatically make things easy. To go fast takes a lot of work and fitness and the same will hold true for the eBike. Every evolution of the bicycle seemed like 'cheating' at the time. Think about the move from single speed to multiple gears, or even the move to full...

And parroting the same BS as enviro-Nazis so that e-bike riders won't beat their records on Strava. All of the best downhill trails in my area are technically illegal already because of elitist enviro nutjobs.. screw em!

I have both and the 19 is a no-brainer. Just the Pankl sourced trans and thinness through the shrouds of the 19 makes it my choice.

Are you racing in Sweden? Akrapovic is one of the quietest exhaust out there so that is a big +. FMF on the other hand one of the loudest. That is something that you should consider if you have to get under the sound regulations.

There is nothing wrong with a little e-boost, as long as the riders are not running other bikers and runners off trails and such. Riding a regular mountain bike is tough work, especially as people age and many people being forced to work longer hours and such to stay afloat financially. I think the worry should be e-mountain bikes taking people away from moto as it can be more accessable and less demanding finacially and timewise. It could be 10% of the cost of moto, but 50% as fun. Those numbers could make more and more park the YZF and...

I think many people on e-bikes will be existing riders who switched bikes. I think this may be like all the two-stroke riders who swiched to four-strokes. People who enjoy mountain biking may enjoy it more with a little e-boost. This is a dangerous and demanding activity, and many will be turned off by that. As a society, I believe we have become less physically active, and many who are just want to go to gyms and post selfies. I don't see a bunch of non-outdoorsy people jumping off the couch or their devices and jumping on e-bikes and thus...

2018 Specialized Levo. Funnest mountain bike I've ever owned, and I can ride farther and longer without bonking my HR off the rev limiter all the time. All the shit talkers hate the very existence of these bikes, until they ride one...

Impossible to try one and not come off with a grin! Unless you are into spandex and shaved legs then yeah maybe that’s not for you.

I'd like to get one as soon as finances allow. I work a blue-collar job and am on my feet all day. An e-bike could allow me to do that kind of work and still get a lot of MTB riding in. Call me a weenie if you like, but one day I went to the moto track after push mowing grass all day. My legs cramped up and I was barely able to fend off a 15 year old on a 125. I'm not sure if I would go Levo or Kenevo. I'd likely go for the base model...

Whatever your thoughts are i'd encourage anyone to try it and say it's not bloody good fun. They're a ridiculously good time. And if you think they're not a good workout you're not thinking it through. If you ride by yourself, or with other e-bikers, your speed increases, but if you're doing your max, you're doing your max. And going downhill they can be more work as the weight is higher. Ride with normies, well yeah, you're not working as hard but you'd also be trying to not laugh while they yell at you so you know. Whatever. You get...

I rented the trek superfly for my brother two months ago so he would go riding with me on my birthday. Loved it so much he went and bout the Specialized turbo Levo. Longer travel, lighter weight, can customize battery and power delivery. Now he’s riding with me weekly. I still want to earn my downhills, but I certainly believe there is a place for e bikes.

Last winter lonestar e-bikes had KILLER deals on haibikes..bought this one for $2400 and it quickly became the ONLY bike I care to ride. The yamaha setup is amazing and very quiet and fun. I think most folks downing them have not tried one!!

^ He's referring to the new Levo, and the 40% thing hasn't proven itself in real world tests, that new motor is also hella noisy... It is lighter though. I rode one before buying my Kenevo. I work in the mtb industry and was able to get this at cost. After demo'ing multiple different e-bikes I was hooked. I have only ridden the normal bike once since getting it. It's a blast. I ride way more, and have more fun when I do. There's nothing like popping off stuff up hill and braking into uphill corners. And of course, riding...

I'm also past the point of trying to prove anything, to myself or anyone else, by being able to climb a hill. And I'm at that age and point in my life where I don't have the endurance, energy, or time to ride enough that I can last long on extended rides. But I still have the urge to get out there and if I can enjoy pedaling up a hill as much as riding down one then that's a win win for me.

I don't understand the fear some have of the E-bike. It's a beautiful thing. I'll own one as soon as the budget allows.

I finally tried one a year ago and have been hooked every since. Lots of bike shops have demo e-bikes: try one and you might be surprised. Excellent cross over to riding moto. I often times ride both on the same day.....
