5/2/2019 5:04pm Growing up racing in the 90s, I always considered the 250 a "man's bike", as it was so much more powerful than a 125, which I felt more comfortable on. I ditched the 125 scene in 2004 for a Honda 250f (add that one to the thread of "bikes you are glad you sold") and had ridden a handful of 250f's and 450s since then, up until about 2015 when I bought another KX 250 two stroke. Oddly, that 250 two stroke started to feel like the 125 did to me back in the day. With a RMZ in the...

5/2/2019 5:03pm I'm racing in the 50+ class on a 2001 YZ125 and having a blast. It's so much fun that I'm doing a LL qualifier on it this weekend.

5/2/2019 5:00pm Just picked up a 2001 KX125. Never rode a 125. I went from an 80 straight to an '85 CR250 at 12 years old. At 16 I got a '95 YZ250 (man that was an easy bike to ride) and then finally go a '07 KX450. Not sure how the small bike will work for me but excited to give it a try. A little work to do on it and hope to have it out at the track in 8 days.

5/2/2019 4:59pm Love to hear the excitement man! I know the feeling. And even after 2 years I still get pumped to ride my 125. They are just awesome bikes to ride. I get pissed at myself for not getting one years ago!

5/2/2019 4:24pm Right on Nick , glad you are enjoying her! Man this thread ended up kicking ass. Pumps me up knowing that a ton of other dudes out there gave the 125 / 150 a shot and are now having a blast on them. I mean , the 125 aint for everyone , but if you give it a chance , and a will to learn , you could surprise yourself at how fast you can get around a track. I'm two years into the 125 now , and I still learn something every time I go out. I honestly don't...

5/2/2019 4:24pm Update on my 125 riding, had my 04’ cr125 project done for a couple weeks now... ridden it on a couple different tracks and it’s soooo much fun.. got the jetting dialed in now, runs pretty well for what I have done to it. Damn it makes you work but in a good way to keep the fire lit and moving. This thing will make me even faster on my 450 I think. But that’s not the point. Fun factor is off the charts! I don’t plan on riding my 450 until I have a race in a couple weeks...

4/29/2019 2:54pm Sunday at the local race, this kid struck up a conversation while I was watching the 40+A/B moto. Super nice fella, with a fair amount of knowledge about the past of the sport and an obvious passion for racing. He introduced himself as Chris, then a bit later I saw his last name on his jersey while we were gating up for our moto and put it together. He was hauling the mail all day on a KTM 250 two-smoke with rad style. Final moto of the day and I think he had a flat rear tire as he was...

4/29/2019 2:53pm I took my YZ125 out on Saturday and don't regret for a second trading in my KX450 for it. So much fun, easy to manage, no arm pump, and I don't feel like it is trying to murder me. Another tip of the hat to Jeffro for this thread.

4/29/2019 6:06am Didn’t say a yz was gay, I said yours looks gay. And you’re right I’m fat, all you pussies that get butt hurt over everything always gotta go to calling me or someone else fat, that’s all you got lol, but guess what at the size I am I’ll run circles around you on that pos Suzuki all day long with probably minimal effort. And I’d love to ride a 325 yz big bore But you thinking yours looks like a factory Chad reed replica basically is about as stupid as you making fun of me for having a actual...

4/28/2019 2:28pm Thank you! Had some fun out there. Finally back healthy the last few weeks and feeling better each day. Not trying to make any bonehead moves out there in the 450 class, as Vegas e/w Showdown is my priority but it was good to put it in the main for 3 of 3 450 races I did this year.

4/25/2019 12:44pm Any rider on an under powered 2 stroke is going to be a different rider than on an over powered 4 stroke. One of them you have to finesse every last drop of power out of it and be light in your feet to keep it where it’s making power. The other one you have to be careful not to twist the throttle too quick because it will send you to the moon if you’re not careful and you can just twist the throttle anywhere and have instant power. It’s one of the biggest reasons why people miss 2 stroke...

4/22/2019 6:50am I burned a lot of gas through my 125 today. Probably more than I should have. Going to be sore tomorrow.
Every one of us think differently on what a fun bike is , what a boring bike feels like. Some people hate 125's , some hate the 450's. To each their own , but for me I'll never NOT have one in my stable. If a guy actually gets interested in the 125's , you have to go into it with an open mind and a will to learn / change your way of thought and technique. I've...

4/21/2019 11:02am I went 8-4 for 4th overall in 125 novice, made a few mistakes and lost a few spots, was third most of moto 2, haven’t raced a big race in about 12 years, and after racing 4 strokes always, and now racing all 125s, fuck four strokes!!!! It was so sick! We need more of these races. So many people showed up, it was like a mini national!! I can’t express how fun this event is, and how cool it was to watch the pro class, shoemaker and Justin hoeft were murdering the track in their 125s, And the open...

4/21/2019 11:01am Haha I honestly don't even let it get to me... That's every race. Even when "One Day" guys sign up for OTHG races (non members), almost all of them are down a class from where they should be. I'm just out there to have fun and dice with the guys around me, whether that's the front or back of the pack.
