I have the same bike, slapped on a set of SSS forks, re-valved, springs front and rear. FMF Fatty / shorty adds some bark, VForce Reeds work well. I've swapped out the 05 shift stopper lever assy as the 05 units have been know to self destruct. Search ... more »

Based on year of the bike... You may have a metering block gasket issues, leaking fuel. If the metering block is leaking you'll be chasing your tail. I believe JD jetting sells the gaskets, I'd start there, then float heights and then tuning.

The clamps are currently on my 06 RM250z. I'm debating if I want to let the RM go.

Added reply in a thread Let’s talk about gate prep… 7/27/2021 4:40 PM

Clean out the rut, fill in and make a ramp from the bottom of the rut to the top of the gate, so there is not an abrupt "bump, but more like a ramp. Since were not allow to farm the other side, it is what it is!

Ha!! Yes... paper weight... I have my old cylinder in a box, just a waste of time to send it in for repair. The OEM cylinders not crazy money and when you factor in the shipping, repair, piston.... your within 50-100 of a brand new jug! Yeap... I know ... more »

Added reply in a thread YZ125 Power Valve 7/16/2021 12:14 PM

Not sure, but when you order the power valves there is a superseded part number. The new valves are different with regards to the pin. In 07 or 08 they also updated the governor spring which I updated as well. It opens 1000 rpm sooner than the 05 spring. ... more »

Added reply in a thread YZ125 Power Valve 7/15/2021 8:40 PM

Hard telling, but there must be a ton of harmonics/ vibration on the pins. If you truly think about it, the power valves are responding to the throttle input and have to be under some forms of stress. I've had 2 broken power valves at the base... what ... more »

I pressed out the bad pin, replaced it with a 5/32 roll pin. That lasted about 3 hours, and it was out of place. I even peened the end to try to prevent it from "walking", did work. Ordered 2 update power valves from Yamaha, the new power valves have ... more »
