I can’t say I’ve seen these fork caps, any ideas what cartridges they are? EDIT. Never mind, that’s Toms bike and he’s on cone valves

I have WP pro components and also 6500 insert forks in my garage, but the 2024 stock air fork is pretty damn good. They have really improved these things a lot since 2021 - they are my fork of choice ATM. whatever KTM does to the 2025 model, I’m pretty sure it will be minor. It’s a great bike.

My son races a 2024 KTM SX-F 250 and I race a Stark. The maintainence requirements on the KTM are insanely expensive so I thought I'd do a quick cost comparision. Also, valves and some parts required for 90 hour maintainence are showing an ETA of Jan/Feb 2024 for the KTM. We dropped a valve on one of his bikes two months ago and are still waiting to be able to purchase parts. The has been a recurring theme with KTM since 2021 or so. I understood during COVID, but it's been super frustrating having multiple bikes sit this year...

They have just been able to do a commercial, what a shame. Still pretty cool to see a Varg with a headlight

Not a good look for the sport to authorize them to race then withdraw their authorization a few hours before the start of the competition. I guess money talks but they won't be able to prevent the Stark from racing for too long, they are just delaying their inevitable debut in FIM world championship.

FIM should have seen this coming - established riders wanting to race on e-bikes. They should have anticipated it and changed the rules. They should embrace e-bikes and stop seeing them as some alien species.

The established manufacturers are totally rattled by the Stark. The more tricks they pull, the better Stark looks.

In fact the regs had been including ebikes for years (since KTM introduced the freeride), Stark complied with the existing rules and had logically been authorized by FIM to race this weekend. Stark agreed to everything the FIM asked for, even they kept adding new requirements, for instance Stark paid a fire marshall dedicated to the bike. In the end, the only way for the FIM to exclude the Varg was... to change the rules 24h before technical inspection of the first race of the season. Taddy also signed with Stark to compete in AMA EnduroCross. https://enduro21.com/en/racing/latest/superenduro/say-what-riders-quote… https://www.cyclenews.com/2023/11/article/blazusiak-signs-with-stark-fo…

Not sure what tight budget is to you but this is a smoking deal I saw go on sale, it will do it all and can hold its own in the bike park. You can find something used worthwhile for $1500-$2000 if you look for a while the bike market is really low currently. Stumpjumper EVO Elite Alloy (specialized.com) I rode moto when I was younger then got super into bikes the past 5 years and now back into offroad riding/racing again 4 years ago. As far as riding vs moto its hard to compare apples to apples since there...

Have been a Bmx guy my whole life, then Enduro Mtb as I could never afford dirt bikes and all that comes with it until more recently. Mtb is the best, and most convenient hobby. Great fitness, you can load up in 5 minutes, ride any day of the week, and avoid so much maintenance. Trails are everywhere for holidays too, accessibility is the best. People get paid to build trails for you (depending where you live). And you don’t need much gear to get going. I find it’s only as expensive as you let it be. Lots of new...
