All are fine as long as you change the oil + filter frequently.

Anybody remember Tistan Charboneau? He raced alongside Chase Sexton on the Amsoil Geico Honda seed team. Only raced the 2016 National season before being dropped. He had 2 top 10s in that season. No chance to grow into the position. After racing for a privateer...more

It’s not jet black but still pretty dark. Looking through the sightglass I can barely see the metal grate a few mm back.

Thanks for the heads up on the clutch rubbers. The shrinkage is evident in those pics. Need to change them out in my other bike for sure.

That was my initial thought too but after zooming in a bit in different spots I think it might be cracks. Hit it with some brake cleaner to get a good look at them. I’d probably replace it for peace of mind.

Didn’t think of that, but maybe. I think I’ve been easy on it so far.

Appreciate the replies and now I’m not so paranoid on the oil color. I’ll keep an eye on it for shavings too but have yet to see any. Just not used to seeing it come out so dark especially after comparing it with my other bikes.

Got a new 2019 450 sxf factory edition. I changed the oil after first 2 hrs and it came out black. Running motorex 15-50 synthetic. Looking at the oil now through the sight glass I can see it turned black again after another 1.5 hrs. I broke it in very ... more »

I run steel sprockets on my 450’s. For me it seems aluminum is only good for maybe a dozen rides before it shows wear and starts to compromise the chain too.

That looks bone dry! Pulling mine apart tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

I have to go through it, grease things up, new bars, suspension and good to go. Really pleased with handling right out of the box, not much else if anything needs to be done...

Just picked mine up last Friday and it came with the Herlings graphics too. Took it to the track on Saturday and broke it in a little. Definitely impressed with the stock suspension although I have CV’s to switch over. Even the carbon skid plate is sweet ... more »

How much were those for the cone valves? I just had Billy rebuild mine. Always does a superb job.

Get one of those cheapo VR headsets at Walmart for like $20, throw your phone in it and click the goggle button in the bottom right of the video so it gives you the split image. Very immersive. Hold a pair of handlebars while viewing and you’re good to go!

See this all the time at Pala, kids on minis on the main at the same time as pros, in the main line and not even close to pace. Totally nuts for a parent to allow that and not even be out there with them except for the occasional gesture for them to ... more »

It all comes down to setup and seat time. Making the added investment in suspension and ergos that fit the rider is more important than displacement. Don't care if it's a 125 or a 450, that fast bike won't be fast without setup or seat time.
