The strange and sad part about RC is, for example, in the gypsy pod he did (IMO) and excellent job explaining himself and his pro career. I thought it was one of the best interviews I've seen in a long time. But when he gets in front of a camera his IQ drops 100pts and some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth is just ignorant.

How could you not think of him as GOAT? Leigh Diffey tells us he's the GOAT 10 times every broadcast.

Is RC the GOAT of MX? Undeniably, YES! Is RC the GOAT of race announcing? Undeniably, NO!! RC is an egomaniac, and a guy who thinks his status as a multi-time past champion gives him the right to push his weight around, blind to the fact that he is ruining his legacy by his douchebaggery and ineptitude.

As more time passes, I think less of RC as the GOAT and more as a shitty announcer.

I don't believe NBC really cares what it's customers think... but I voted for DB. RC has a lot of pull in this sport compared to DB. RC could simply throw one of his behind the scenes temper tantrums and get his way in most areas of the sport. Someone should send this thread to DB. Maybe next time he talks about this topic - he will have some fan support leverage he can bring up to the powers that be. Maybe @TeamGreen can send him this thread,.

Merely an observation. Yelling “Do it for Dale” isn’t original or new.

Yeah, I find the AP bit cringey and fake. Are you a cowboy? Or a southern NASCAR boy? Or from Ohio? And I don't think he knows that much about Dale's history and just likes playing up the image. But other than that AP is a nice guy and works hard so it's good to see him get a podium. Poeple are alloweed to be cringey, this is America.

Been saying this ever since it started. He thought he was a rapper through 2019…. That being said AP is the man wether he’s doing the worm or tipping a cowboy hat

You know all people have ever wanted from the supercross broadcast was for them to not talk to us like we are 3rd graders. The red honda. The green kawasaki. Just call the race the same way every other sport does and speak to the lifelong viewers. Explaining something like your a third grade teacher isnt appealing to no one.

Rc absolutely fucking blows but the whole tv crew seems to love his racing resume as if that gives him some kind of credentials and pull over the audience. They also call him the goat 500 times a night and im sure he loves that.

I understand the sentiment of not caring to some degree, but our sport is very small. If in the NFL, some all-time hall of famer were an announcer doing a terrible job and bullying other people out of the booth with him, you’d hear about it. It matters because this sport matters to a lot of us and the way it’s represented on national television matters to us. Having DB in the booth doing an excellent job represents our sport well. Having a guy who is illiterate/can’t string together a grammatically correct sentence in there makes our sport look bad...

Im with you mate. Im here for the racing not smx survivor

ill probably get downvoted for this, but i dont understand why people get so tore up about the broadcast. could it be better? yes. will they change anything to make it better? no. people have complained for how many years, and i cant think of one thing thats been changed for the better. it is what it is. i dont give a shit who is in the booth. they could put leigh, todd, rc, cameron steele, weege, will, jamie little, and erin bates all in the booth at the same time and i would still happily watch every single race...

Yep. Malin proves it can be done with 2 people and done well. Even RDL could be done with the same person like Malin does with the pre show. To many chiefs and not enough Indians as the saying goes with the SMX broadcasting. Makes it worse that most of the “chiefs” suck

At this point, who fucking cares ?? These days I just look up, and pay attention when the gate drops. And tune out again after the podium interviews. And even then, over half the stuff they focus on has little to do with on track action. Just watched the MXGP's. Guess it's too much to ask for a simple broadcast style like Malin produces.

It appears Dungey ended up in the seat that might have been DB during Race Day Live. Could DB have been bumped at the request of KTM to put Dunge on? DB might have similar heartburn from KTM to be "mind blown" and "shocked".

This has been posted here often... And everytime I wonder how anyone would think it is serious. 🙄

I love how everyone thinks RC is some puppet master deciding who is on the show and who isn't. DB found out the same thing Emig did and someday, RC will. Feld and NBC call the shots. They decide who is on the show, who to replace, and when. I remember Emig investing in voice coaching to elevate his performance and solidify his position in the booth. NOPE. The suits pivoted and he was gone. DB wanted more, felt the tug of the end of his chain, unclipped and hopefully found success with less red tape and more freedom to...
