I’m not an emotional person about anything and she is very emotionally needy so we just didn’t work out on that level. It doesn’t mean we didn’t care about each other, just that we weren’t compatible. We are still friends and text daily, mostly funny memes. I did get her kid into riding and she doesn’t know much about it so I still am kinda involved with the moto side of things. A little harder now that I live 3 hours away though.

He was walking the track at Troy one year and walked over to the fence where I was standing by myself and just started bs'ing with me. Asked me if I rode there and asked for advice on a section. I told him that he was at least a gear higher than me so my advice wouldn't help. He laughed. Pretty cool dude.

If you can't keep riding on the track until you get to the mechanic's area, then it needs to be a DNF. Problem solved. I'm somewhat of a Barcia fan, but I'm a bigger fan of at least trying to apply the rules consistently.

Duh... how could have I not remembered Dowd! 98 125SX West title, though he would have been 32 as his birthday isnt until August 10th (1965). No less impressive though, even won a 250SX race that year in Charlotte. Won Broome-Tioga in NY that august after turning 33 in the 125MX. Also won a number of races indoors and outdoors in 97. Won a few outdoor premier class 250 races at 31 and 32, finishing an impressive 2nd overall. The Junkyard Dog was on fire in 97 and 98.
