Well, my ex-girlfriends wallet lol. It’s time to upgrade her kid to a bigger bike and I went and picked up this 2018 65sx for them tonight. It’s pretty clean with 40 hours of trail use. There is a few things I need to take care of on it and I’ve already ordered him some Red Bull KTM graphics with his number on them. He doesn’t know about it yet, but Sunday he’s gonna learn how to use a clutch since he’s coming off a CRF50.

I’m not an emotional person about anything and she is very emotionally needy so we just didn’t work out on that level. It doesn’t mean we didn’t care about each other, just that we weren’t compatible. We are still friends and text daily, mostly funny memes. I did get her kid into riding and she doesn’t know much about it so I still am kinda involved with the moto side of things. A little harder now that I live 3 hours away though.

You're a good dude. I had built my ex a pretty sweet mountain bike while we were together. She tried to get it back recently and I told her to pound sand lol.

That is good of you to step up for the boy. Every boy needs a man like you in his life if the father is not going to be there for him. You are building memories.

Did she fund the purchase and you are helping out by picking it out and setting it up for him?

It is never wrong to be a good influence in a persons life, especially the younger ones and especially with the sport. I applaud you!

Yes. It needs a few things like a tire and chain so I went to picked those up after work. I’ll post some pictures after I get it clean up with the new graphics on it this weekend.

It actually seems to be pretty good. It fired up second kick. It does have some spooge coming out of the exhaust, but a lower flash point oil should take care of that problem.

Also thanks guy. I can’t take all the credit, this is on her wanting to keep her kid happy since he loves riding. I’m just making sure she’s not taken advantage of and buys junk and he’s on something reliable and teach him the basics to get going on the bike.

Some new graphics on this thing really made it pop. Need some minor trimming with a razor blade and to change the oil and rear tire and it’s good to go. Already changed the air filter and repacked the silencer too.

That’s a massive step up from a crf50! Make sure he takes it easy at first or try and get some seat time on a motocross 50 to bridge the gap a bit.

Nope, he’s getting a 2 stroke crash course lol. He’s got some time on one of his friends 110 so that will help some with the physical size difference. I ride with him and show him how it works. I plan on having him control the throttle while I use the clutch and then switch where I use the throttle and he uses the clutch and then I’ll have him do both. We’ll see how that pans out.
