Pitching a baseball and hitting a baseball are about az different as you can get, regardless if happens on the same field, there really is no carry over fron one to the other. Even though SX and GP are different sports i think there is a lot more in common then throwing and hitting.

If you got off work at the widget factory, would you want to go home and work on/play with widgets? You're looking at this from the standpoint of a hobbyist who rides/works on their bikes for fun in their spare time. To pros, this is their job, they spend their entire day working on making themselves better at it, I'm sure the last thing they want to do when they get home at night is change a tire or do a top end job on a motor.

it’s like asking an NFL player to do the job of an equipment manager washing uniforms and making sure they have the right cleats. It just takes time away from the athlete to be able to practice or train, and if you are riding 3-4 days a week I don't see anytime that you would want to ride for fun. Fun to these guys is golf or whatever that's not moto, at least while they are at the pointy end of things after retirement things might change. I like working on bikes for fun but if I was a factory...

Those of you who think noise isn't a reason for tracks & riding areas closing are either new to the sport or purposely have your head in the sand. I know of at least 4 private tracks that have been shut down due to neighbors being pissed about the noise, not a single one has turned into some high dollar development or industrial area....the land is just sitting vacant now. Yes...I know that the "no fun police" will always want to find a way to shut us down from riding but bikes being so god damn loud sure isn't doing...

A very fuzzy sat image from 2003 vs 2023. Safe to say the increased development in the area has simply brought more people and therefore more noise complaints. That amazing looking facility to the southeast is Ford's Lommel Proving Grounds. 2003 2023

Thank you for the offer, I've ridden a Stark and an Alta and they were both very impressive and eye opening to ride. I think you're mistaking me for an ebike hater, which I am not. I really don't care what people bring to the track and ride but to state that they are not in any way advantageous over a gas bike in a race situation is either ignorant or trolling.

Before this thread goes fully off side (it will) I'm a Vet - and i would say 95% could care less. The bikes are the least of our limits lol. Buy it - have fun. Are guys really racing for trophies and $$$$. Majority of Vet's have a masters degree in "how i lost the race" excuses. The Dark just gives us another lol.

(Lack of) Sound can't be used a reason because that would mean they'd have to stop deaf people from racing... And well...Ashley Fiolek managed just fine

Vet classes are open classes so who cares? If they are an unfair advantage, everyone will buy one.

Haha - that's a funny joke! To be clear, my snarkyness isn't directed at you, but at MX Sports. They banned Altas from racing at Loretta's years ago. No chance they let electric bikes race in any adult/vet class until one of the major manufacturers release a production model and push MX Sports to allow them to race. I sincerely wish they would allow them, I'm not an e-bike hater and would love to try out a Stark, but until one of the major "partners" releases an electric model, I don't see any way they let it happen. The only...

Hey guys, I have no idea who valveless is, so I’m sure he’s just assuming that this injury removes me from working with Haiden. But I assure you that’s not the case. There will for sure be someone that has to help until I get healed and mobile again, but I’m not going anywhere. I was riding at a track in Florida yesterday. I was hitting a step up with a blind landing in 4th gear, and as I came over I saw a bike laying on the track. Nowhere to go, so I hit the bike and got slammed...

What a bummer. He seems like a really cool guy and genuinely stoked to be Haiden’s mechanic. They make a good team, he’s a good wingman for Haiden…. always positive and upbeat.

Back when I was sponsored I had a provincial championship race at a track that was 3 minutes from that sponsors location (Karcher Canada), and I told them to let everyone at the plant know to come cheer me on. I had my best race of the year and went 1-1 for the win. A month and a half later I was on the cover of their world wide magazine with the title "Karcher, Always Leading The Way" and in small print under the picture "Karcher Sponsored Rider Goes 1-1 in Provincial Championship" (3rd for the series actually, but 1-1...

I rode the varg a while back just on some grass track. 20-45 HP. Standard rear brake. I was in steel toe work boots and a borrowed helmet. My biggest takeaway was the bike didn’t do anything weird and was just easy to ride.. I reached for the clutch lever a few times but not a big deal. I was surprised how I could ride it and not even think about how it’s totally different than anything I had ever ridden. I felt as if I could have raced the bike after riding it 10 minutes. Also I hadn’t ridden...

I'd argue the same for those who feel the need to discredit a bike they've never ridden, until you swing a leg over your opinion is invalid.
