I know Pierre is the first non American to win an AMA Motocross Championship, that was historic indeed. However, Gary Jones won the 250 Championship in 73 the year Pierre won the 500 Championship. This year would be historic if Ferrandis and Jett Lawerance won both Championships. It would mark the first year in AMA Motocross history that no American has won a championship.

Plausible idea for the KTM group, make a production MX bike for the masses, then make an Factory SX Edition 1/2 year edition. They seem to have money to throw around.

Serious question here: With the ability to run a frame that’s design is 5 years old (I thought it was 2 years but I’m an amateur) has any manufacturer tried designing SX and MX frames for production bikes every other few years? For instance, if a frame was built ridgid good for tight point and shoot style SX racing, and the next generation frame was built with more flex that suited long rough MX style racing. If this was done race teams be able to use the different generation frames for multiple years in each discipline giving teams better ability...

Oh yea, back in 81'. I can't remember what happened, but I went down in a 1st turn crash and the overflow tube was ripped off, and I'm pretty sure the cap got jacked up. By the end of the moto, my whole lap was soaked in gas. I ended up finishing the moto, rode straight back to the pits, ripped off my boots/pants and sat down and dumped the cooler of ice on my lap. That shit hurt.
