And picked up a ‘22 350. I called around looking for either a 125 or a 350 and this was the only one within a 5 hour drive from me. I’m not a 4 stroke guy at all, but the last 350 I rode was very similar to riding my 2 stroke and I have some plans to try for Loretta’s in the next year or two so, I’ll need a little more help off the gate vs. all the 450’s.

Well it wasn’t a two stroke so by law I couldn’t make a spoke with my wallet title lol

Thanks guys. Taking it out tomorrow to see how it goes. Hoping I don’t go down the rabbit hole of ordering chassis parts to make it better.

I didn't really like the looks of the new KTM's in pics but I think they look awesome in person

Har! Laughing
You not making your stuff top-notch? Sheeit, anyone's that read your threads on your bikes or that Camaro knows that 350 is going to end up nice enough to give a top pro a stiffy.

Thanks guys.

I was out on it today. I still really dislike 4 strokes, but I did some suspension adjustments at the track and it’s much better. Swapped out to the vented side cover and that for sure helped the laggy throttle response. I’m ordering the 2 stroke air filter cage so that should help too.

This is my first time really riding a 4 stroke in 15 years and even then I wasn’t comfortable on one, but I was able to get within a second of my previous time at this track and got more comfortable as the day went on. I tried to ride the bike like everyone says to, but it doesn’t work for me. If I ride it exactly like my 2 stroke with the clutch, 2nd and 3rd reving it out then I’m comfortable and the bike starts to flow with me. I’m gonna look into a reprogram and try and get rid or reduce the engine braking as well.

Your 350 will have zero problems pulling holeshots against 450s. just hold the throttle wide open and do not shift .

Welcome to the 350 club.

I, like you, choose the 350 after riding 2 strokes because of how similar they feel.

Congrats! Very interested to see how you enjoy it after some time. I rode a 21 YZ 250f, 22 YZ 450F and a 18 Husky 350 after only riding my KTM 250sx... for me, it was naturally super easy to ride comparatively. 450f was a monster down low, 250f was a hoot, and the 350 revs similar to the 250 2 stroke. I'm looking at the 250/350 myself now Smile

Take advantage of the extra torque and try to roll your corners more and see if your lap time drops.

Spending more money after buying a new bike always sucks, but I will say that a reprogrammed Vortex makes it a different bike. The engine braking is mostly gone, throttle response vastly improved, and a chunk of power in the midrange where it was missing before. All the other things will make minor improvements.

Bike looks great, BTW. Orange frame is awesome.

Thank guys. The air forks are a huge step up from the ‘18 forks that my other bike had. They are no cone valves and feel busy through the braking bumps and roller type sections. I was only using just about 7/8 of the travel with the recommended air pressure. I’ll probably keep an eye out for some cones after a bit of getting used to the bike.

Erik, I can’t be dropping that kinda money on a vortex*, I have car parts to buy haha.

*Ignore the cone valve comment above
