They expect him to reject the medical brace while laying in the hospital with a broken neck because he thinks the sports ones do more harm than good. They expect him to refuse treatment for his broken neck because he does not agree with all modern medicine/science. Yeah, it’s a stretch. I don’t remember him ever saying that you should not stabilize or repair a broken neck. people just love to be dicks.

Isn't a hypocrite someone who says not to do something, while doing it themselves? How does ryno saying not to wear a neck brace, while not wearing a neck brace make him a hypocrite? It's ironic that the most vocal guy against a neck brace, now has a broken neck (not that there is any evidence to prove that a neck brace would have prevented his injuries, rather than made them worse)...but I fail to see the hypocrisy in it? or are you talking about the modern medicine stuff? if so, I can see the hypocrisy there...to an extent.

Can you elaborate on why some safety items are not up for debate but some are? Why are gloves a non debatable item but a neck brace is?

Ah, my bad then…for some reason I thought he broke his back in this crash? (Not his neck), maybe that was another crash? If he broke is neck…then yes, I can see the irony (even though I agree with him on neck braces…and there is no proof of would have prevented this injury rather than making it worse). Even so...a moto brother is down...I wish him a full and speedy recovery.

But Ryno didn't break his neck...or hurt his knee...So where is the irony in him not liking knee and neck braces?

Ryno: has some unorthodox but strong beliefs in riding, technique, and equipment. Sometimes crosses the line when trying to prove his point. Ryno: breaks his back, suffers temporary paralysis Some vital users: eat shit hippie! Like I said, some classy folks in here. Every single one of you would wish Ryno well if you saw him in the hallway of the hospital.

Would a neck brace have prevented any of his injuries? If not, where is the irony?

When he talks about neck braces and paralysis, he is experienced. He's a hero, get well soon Ryno! That ride at LL's was legend, and made a mockery of the modern bike theory and bikes have gotten too fast. So many here unwilling to think outside the box, Ryno has never been one of those. Funny to think that MX'er's...

Motocross legend Ryan Hughes who was injured at Pala Raceway on February 13, 2013. Ryan sustained a number of serious injuries to his spine including a broken T-3 and shattered T-4, which initially caused paralysis to most of Ryan’s extremities. Fortunately for Ryan the paralysis was only temporary and he was able to regain feeling and movement after doctors successfully fused his back from T-2 to T-6. As of February 15th Ryan has endured 2 surgeries, the first surgery was performed when a blood clot again caused partial paralysis due to swelling near the spine and subsequent pressure to the...

I didn’t hear anything about him hurting his knees in this crash…. Safety gear to me are boots, helmet, mx pants/jersey, gloves, goggles, knee pads and chest protector (which is what I’ve always worn). I don’t recall him telling anyone not to wear any of those items listed, do you? Anything beyond that is open for debate.

Slower than expected start for the US boys, they better pick up the pace tomorrow...... Josep Garcia with the individual overall lead, not surprising. Although Verona from Italy led and was fastest most the day and had one decent crash that set him back it sounds like. Italy is in firm control of both World & Junior Trophy as it stands right now. https://enduro21.com/en/racing/latest/isde/2021-isde-day-1-results-ital…

The fact that the Hondas come with quite a few changes from Japan to Red Moto, was eye opening to me. They've a Lot of pull with the Factory, it appears. Just as their predecessors, HM had. With my old beast, Honda OZ sourced a fair few things from HM Italy, to have them set up for Rego / Plating.

An interesting series of Videos from Italy / the FIM and, Rally POV : "Destination Six Days" . As much (deserved, at times) flack the FIM gets, TVFIM is pretty bloody good. But, to placate some noodles that may be upset by a different language (we've a fair few here that can't deal with even the slightest of accents - bloody Drongos Woohoo ) , here's a short vid of 'The General', Ryan Sipes talking about this years ISDE, and getting familiar with the 300 2T: https://youtu.be/dAm-1hDYUrU This is an intro to this years 6 Day : https://youtu.be/7y3qj1EDC7I First ep...
