Kinda tired of talking about Honda XR's in a Kawi two stroke release thread. I wanted one of these new back in 89 but was a poor teenager. About 25 years later I finally made it happen. The bike was roached beyond belief when I got it. Even fully restored with new OEM crank kit, plated cylinder and wiseco piston, boyeson reeds... it was still pretty dang slow compared to my '01 RM125 I had around this same time. She looked absolutely amazing. Sold it to someone in the UK, hopefully it's still being ridden and raced today.

Honestly Tomac is one of the greats and should be considered on the moto Mount Rushmore But how rad would it be when he does decide It's time to finish his racing career. He lays his gloves on the up ramp of the finish line like how UFC fighters leave there gloves in the ring.... The photos would be one to hang on the wall! Not saying he needs todo so now just when the time comes, it would be something different. Something all the fans would love.

I remember when gas was 30 cents a gallon and my dad would give me a quarter for gas to put in my yellow 68 Honda mini trail. I would grab the one gallon can, hook it on my bicycle bars and off to the gas station I’d go. I ride back and it was on till I ran dry again…….. “Hey dad, can I have another quarter?” Those were some of the best days of my life.❤️

He was a gearhead, so, very proud. He had no interest in my football games or honors ceremonies but would drop everything to tinker on stuff in the garage with me. Here's the XL/R, my first bike:

Frame rust holes welded, Elsinore Tahitian red. CRF450 front end. Eibach springs front and rear. Everything rebuilt down to the last washer. Motor almost finished with all new bearings, gaskets, seals, piston, cam chain, Barnett clutch, mikuni flat slide carb, staintune exhaust. Built for reliability. Braided steel brake lines, hubs painted black with black excel rims and heavy duty spokes. The fat lady hasn’t sung but she’s jumped on the piano, ripped her gear off and started kicking her feet in the air. Show us what you got!

So….with 4 kids all very in to many sports, our TV had sports of all types playing for hours a day. My main sport is SX/MX. Watching and riding. SX/MX reporters are by far the least professional. They talk about themselves, and make themselves the story a disturbing amount of the time they talk. I did this, and I told a rider he should try this, and I am the best. It’s really weird.
