And just for nostalgia, my very first MX race at 17 in the spring of 1992 on, yup, a new KDX 250. The homemade front plate to swap for the headlight shell because even then, those things were expensive when they broke!

There are 3 or 4 people in this form that just attack people. I ve seen it first hand. These are some unhappy fooks that don't have anything else to do ... because no one wants anything to do with them. I wish the moderator would clip them. He actually touched on his lack of being able to convey things properly at times. He knows he's come off disrespectful with some stuff and feels like an idiot when that happens.

I believe that in order to reach the absolute top of any field, motorsports in particular, one must be supremely confident, bordering on arrogant. There’s no other way to convince your brain’s self-preservation department that going that fast on your chosen form of track is reasonable. That said, I have always favored the “walk softly and carry a big stick” personality of letting your riding/driving do the talking. I don’t like openly arrogant people, regardless of what they do.

if someone is saying that Jett sucks then they’ve disqualified themselves from any serious adult conversation. He obviously doesn’t suck. Neither does Deegan. I’m delighted by the prospect of seeing two excellent riders going head to head. I don’t hold moronic comments from a rider’s fans against the rider. Nor do I expect a 20 year old to act in a way that pleases an old fart like me. I don’t think I’d want to spend time with Deegan but I sure like watching him ride. I can appreciate his talent regardless of what else I think of him or...

Well, a decent sized chunk of the fastest riders in the world are over 30 now, so is +25 really a Vet class? Seems like the next age class after Collegeboy to me. +30 is more of a true Vet class, but there are some super fast dudes out there that never scored points. As a 35 year old dude who races +25 and +30 after taking 15 years off racing to get my career/life in order, it doesn't bother me at all the credentials of the guys that show up. If they're better, they're better.

Showing up and just hanging out at the races and catching with people haven’t seen in a while… Classic Phil I hope he has an epic summer.

😄 Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see him come up this summer to race a couple of nationals at his favorite tracks. Running the number 1 as a privateer out of the back of a pick-up truck would be pretty cool.
