I'm no metalurgist, but steel becoming more flexible over time doesn't make sense to me.

Just to add... Mcagrath is tied for 10th all time in overall wins in the premier class I believe. He also has more 450 (250 in his time) overalls than Villopoto. 1 title and 2 des nations wins. I get that his career is lopsided, but he still stepped it up outside. Anyone with eyes can watch some old races and see that he meant business.

Turning every track surface into the same soil mix nationwide hasn't helped our guys at all. When there is little to no traction available every rider calls the track sketchy. Well, yeah, that's natures way of telling you to ride differently, set up your bike differently, and for the promoters to design any man made obstacles differently. If you can find traction on hard pack, you can find it anywhere. Same thing goes for sand. You have to learn to carry momentum and change your ride position. The Euros practice in all of these conditions. We used to but now...

Besides the rocks, riding at Loket looked much more fun to me than most national tracks. Hard pack and dust won't kill you!

Interesting.. where does Cole Davies slot into this conversation? the kid trained on SX as an amateur, but chased gate drops around the continent. Id almost argue it (almost) doesn't matter the tracks or training facility, all of it is useless if your not lining up or getting gate drops. The top riders of out sport talk about how much missing races effects them, even if they are on the bike training. Why wouldn't it be any different for kids?

Is Hughes right? How many of us don't ride in the rain anymore? I don't, don't like the mess of cleaning up the bikes after. But this was me in the early 00's at Bremen. I remember vividly how badly I wanted to ride that day, in spite of light rain and 40 degree temps. When I rolled up that Saturday I was the only person there other than the gate lady. She said ma'am you can ride for free today, knock yourself out!

Trey's an absolute badass on a motorcycle, but he's been retired for nine years, there's no way he could come back and podium. Just so this thread isn't a total waste, here's Trey and James at Millville in 2013...

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but I have been re-listening to old Pulpmx shows, 1 or 2 a week in order and this mornings show was #267 with co-host Jake Weimer. Its a good show, any with Jake in studio are. This is what Jake had to say...(painfully...vaguely 😀)...on August 29 2016 about his time at Kawasaki and bike setup issues. Time stamp a little into the 4 hour 52 minute mark. https://pulpmx.com/podcast/show-267-andrew-short-wil-hahn-kyle-bentley-…

Last year during the Prado saga, Kawi had Taka do some testing for them, and I can’t remember who interviewed him, but he said along the lines of; “ you test the factory suspension, then ride on stock suspension and it’s better, somethings wrong”. Yet everyone continued to throw Jorge under the bus. I also see Taka’s now at HRC, not surprised after that 😂

What a bummer that was. I was so stoked or see him attempt to defend that title. Prime Dylan was such a fun watch.

The "Mecum Effect" is having serious fallout when used bikes are getting priced. Same as the "Kaplan Effect". It's all smoke and mirrors. Almost nothing over $3500 is selling regardless of condition and basket cases that are priced over a grand don't even deserve a call. All the sellers "know what they got"🙄 20-30 year old two strokes I just figure I'm going to have to do a complete engine rebuild on day one and figure that into the price. Then throw in all the chassis bearings, tires, and a suspension rebuild. I've been racing vintage bikes for 30 years...

Used bikes are not selling….I have had 2 historically good selling used bikes for sale for months…300SX & 350SFX, nothing but clowns, dreamers and low ballers…forget about the trade offers….I don’t need to sell a bike to buy my new bikes but my garage is bursting at the seams😂…the market is flooded with used and new bikes…buyers market right now…. I also have a large quantity of low hr late 80”s-90”s bikes I want to sell but not in this environment….

I reckon Spain this year. Prado wants to prove to Europe how fast he's going in America. Farres is in his comfort zone here in Europe in the MXGP setting. Fernandez can put MXGP Moto wins together when he needs to. Spain is overlooked- perhaps less pressure than the others.
