I only knew Mike from a few races, those races you go to that are out of your "norm" and you really don't know many people. Mike was one of those you see and meet that you dont forget LOL I don't think there was a happier guy to be at a hot dusty race. The guy was just genuinely nice to me and my son talking my ear off about good ole moto. At future races if I saw him I always looked forward to talking to him....my Son also. He certainly set a great example for my son...

Only thing on two wheels that should be postponed due to rain is the TT/Macau. Otherwise the boys need to get after it.

Finishing it up this morning. The beginning of this week has been insane. In the mean time, we have a ton of great race coverage on the homepage as well (Thanks to Lewis, Sean, and Jamie who get stuff done on time unlike me).

That map is very very close to Keefer's "Connection Torque" map, which is the one I've been using for a few months now. Quite a bit mellower/vet-friendly than the stock map for sure. I'll have to try out this other one to see if I can even tell the difference between it and Keefer's. I have not tried the airbox hack.

Every race without Ricky announcing is a breath of fresh air.

Tooting my own horn a little. 1972 open MX race on a 1958 BSA Gold Star 500. I was 15. How about the military combat boots, brown jeans, Fruit of the Loom white t-shirt, welders gloves and a thrift store red metal flake open face helmet. No number plates just electrical tape number 11 on the tank. Loved those simple times. Was a lot of fun back then and not so serious.

You look up any old photos or movies from the early to mid 60s and it’s all Dave Bickers. He won the 60 & 61 European 250 Championship before it was called the World Championship. After 62 he wanted to stay closer to home otherwise I think he could of won a couple more. But he did well in a lot races after that for many years. He was one of the Europeans to come to America with Hallman, DeCoster, Roberts etc. to show Americans what MX was in the late 60s. I got his signature on the front number...

I restored a 61 Greeves 250 MCS Dave Bickers replica. About 5 or 6 years ago I took it to the annual Steve McQueen motorcycle and car show. I guy comes up and asked me “You know why I like this bike” I said no why, he said “because my dad was Dave Bickers”. I couldn’t believe it. What were the chances. Paul gave his card for the family stunt business his dad started. It was pretty cool. He was pretty moved that someone in America even knew who is dad was.
