3/29/2024 10:21pm Totally get it. The seat gave you a massive boost in comfort. I didn't intend to diminish or doubt your appreciation for it, and if I did, I apologize. My comment was focused on suspension settings, and maybe was out of line.

3/29/2024 9:59pm I agree that all of those things, MINUS the seat foam, have an effect on suspension. Seat foam affects comfort when your butt is planted on the seat, 100%. We've just been so slammed we haven't done much with the rider support program aside from various pro teams and riders. Hoping to open that up to more racers soon later this year, just been hard to keep up with everything as-is!

Back to 2010 on the 450 and 2012 on the 250F are the same fitment. The only exception being the 2016-2017 450 being 25mm offset instead of 22 (possibly the 2017 250 as well?).

The current top clamp is the same part number for current vs previous gen (so "yes" to your second question), but the bottom clamp is different (likely a different flex characteristic). Both are the same offset though (22mm). Kinda unusual to only swap...

Maiden voyage yesterday coming off a kx450f and KTM350sxf (I still have those bikes…..). I had a 2020 yz450f for a bit and had no complaints. I always told myself that if Yamaha came out with a more nimble chassis then that would be the bike. Anyways…..I loved the bike. It’s so good off the showroom floor with a few minor suspension changes. Chassis is great and the layout is perfect. I’m pretty stoked!!

I’ll start off with I love this thread and there has been a ton of useful information to set these bikes up. I’ve always been a fan of the factory edition bikes so I built my own Yamaha version. I’ve tried a lot of parts suggested from this thread like the Enzo suspension, nuaxle, and I’ve tried a few of my own that no one seems to talk as much about like Neken sfs triple clamps and works chassis lab motor mounts. Picked up a 24 to race off-road, and some motocross. Have less than two hours so far but holy moly the motor is incredible. Feels light, super responsive, and pulls harder down than my 23 Husqvarna FC450. Forks are great as well, but I’m shocked at how tall the rear is, and how high it rides in the stroke. It’s massively under sprung for me, which is probably the culprit, but suspension is going out to REP in a few days. Love Enzo as well, but the REP set up on my last Husqvarna was really good. 1/9/2024 10:29am That map is very very close to Keefer's "Connection Torque" map, which is the one I've been using for a few months now. Quite a bit mellower/vet-friendly than the stock map for sure. I'll have to try out this other one to see if I can even tell the difference between it and Keefer's. I have not tried the airbox...
