I put an hour meter on from the day of purchase so I can track total time. If you replace your Yamaha stock ECU with an aftermarket unit like Vortex, you'll lose the hour meter functionality (Vortex does not have it). This way ^^^ I am prepared for the impulsive upgrades I am surely to make from the beginning. Works Connection's hour meter and mount has fit my Yamahas very well. Well worth the price.

I chose to just use the app. Had a meter on my Honda and it was just one extra "thing"..

Once you get used to connecting and checking the app, you’ll find it a much better solution than a standard hour meter. Especially if you use the app to document any and all maintenance you do.

I can see how it would be easier to just read the meter rather than connect to the bike from the phone, but I don't know if it's worth the install. Maybe it's just worth popping on...

KTM is a good bike for sure. But I recently rode a new YZ and was blown away at how much less it vibrated compared to my 22 350 with XTrig ROC clamps (with the softest inserts), and Protaper evo bars. I fell into the “just keep adding parts” trap that so many KTM folks do. Great bike but I’m in a lot of money. I fixed the problem today, just bought a new YZ.

Your suspension probably feels stiff because you’re in the lower part of the stroke. It’s plush for me at 160 pounds.

On ktm’s they are caps for fuel line or electrical connections if you clean with the tank off

If anyone has a spare airbox cover they'd be willing to let me borrow for a couple weeks please let me know, I'd be happy to cover shipping as well as additional compensation. Hoping to start developing the next generation of intake scoops for these bikes but haven't been able to get my hands on a cover unfortunately, which I need to create the solid model and verify fitment.

Thanks! Before I traded my ‘21 in it was meticulously cleaned, got all new plastic, refreshed/painted clutch cover, valves checked, and grease where it needed it. Every bike I sell or trade in gets the same treatment. Small price to pay to ensure nobody has any obvious reasons why they don’t wanna pay what I’m asking. Plus the next guy gets a sweet bike that’s ready to rip. A roached out bike destined to sit outside at a dealer rusting away is not going to get you very far on your next bike 👍
