7/30/2025 9:52pm I qualified for Lorettas this year for the first time (30+, alternate for +25) and had to cancel due to the cost of going. I went to register online and naively thought I would be signing up for my classes and settle gate fees upon arrival. It was $500 for both classes, $800 for the 'facility fee' and $200 per 'non-camping vehicle' (minimum 1) and a $50 processing fee. Well over $1500 (comes to roughly $2000 CAD) all demanded up front, 4 weeks prior to the event. I called MX Sports, pleaded to let me register for my classes and...

7/30/2025 9:51pm Oh I totally understand that. Its just stupid in my opinion to continue to let those activities go on if its such a threat to insurance. I hate seeing that stuff in videos so its not like I'll miss it.

7/30/2025 9:51pm Slowie gets life for filming what others are doing, but the one's that are doing it just go home and sober up with no consequences. MX Sports isn't going to punish the people making them money.

7/30/2025 9:50pm I understand its the same as before and its under attack from insurance. But my opinion is just do away with it since its that big of a deal with insurance. That's the right thing to do not just turn a blind eye.

7/30/2025 9:49pm I was hired as security at a nascar event once… Somehow, my golf cart was stolen in the middle of the knight, I wound up drunk and I still got paid.

Falcon Liked a reply to forum topic Side discussion about Loretta’s lap times/Vet classes
7/30/2025 3:51pm I'd be willing to bet that the lap times don't equivocate from one track to another. In other words, maybe you're 20 seconds behind Miller at Millville, but only 19 behind Short at the same track. Then, at Loretta's, you might be 18 seconds behind Miller but 30 behind Shorty. At still another track, you could get blown away by Miller to the tune of 30 seconds or more, but (relatively speaking,) hot on the heels of Short by only 12 seconds.

7/30/2025 2:27pm I know a family who in 2008 took a $1million loan against his successful business and it all went toward racing. That wasn’t their first loan they got and spent the money on moto, either. I’m speaking from first hand experience. A lot of these families that have the huge rigs, practice mechanic, kid at the facility etc. are extremely leveraged and can’t do it for 10+ years. Got hammered with an am kids dad and he ended up crying and saying he was literally addicted to motocross racing and his wife was ready leave him for it. There has...

With all due respect, this sport is largely made up of people who’ve devoted their lives to racing — living in training camps, skipping formal education, and as a result, not always the sharpest tools in the shed. The media types circling the sport often come from the same world, so let’s not expect Pulitzer-level conversation.

7/30/2025 8:50am I'm not talking about Factory or Factory Support teams. I'm talking about the guys who are 15-40. I've walked many supercross pit parties, and behind the first two rows of semis is usually older vans with an ez up. It's just drastically different than the amateur nationals.

7/30/2025 8:47am Yeah i guess so. To me i don't understand why their dad when he sees Mirtl, a guy twice the age his kids are, and hears him rambling on socials and think yeah that's good for my kids with starpower and mega money making potential to stay close to this guy. Regardless if he did or did not do any criminal stuff.

7/30/2025 8:25am I use to listen to it all. This beef does nothing but push me more towards Lewis and Pulp. Now instead of gypsy pod or whiskey I listen to LVK. Pulp talks politics too much for me but his moto content is superior to everyone else and he seems like a good dude. Lewis is the best journalist by far and I listen to all his stuff(minus mxgp pod). The funny thing is my politics align much more with ping and GL but they have pushed me away with how they behave.
