Agree 100% !   If you are afraid of getting your insurance yanked because of ridiculous nighttime activities, crack down on those activities!!!  Not rocket science.  However, MX Sports doesn’t want to piss off a significant percentage of these type fans as it will cut into their gate money.  So, they’ll just turn a blind eye to it until something really bad happens and then they’ll just do their best to “sweep it under the rug”.   Ya can’t have it both ways…..

I kind of like the idea of allowing the attendees to have fun without some dickhead broadcasting their activities to the world, but that's just me.

Same goes for Vegas, or fight club, or . . .

It's not "so bad", it is the same thing that has been going on for decades. The difference is we're under attack from insurance companies now and it's better not to highlight the partying aspect of these events. Hire security to handle it if a situation gets out of control but otherwise just don't talk about fight club. If actual patrons start complaining, then by all means get better control. But that's not what is happening.

I was hired as security at a nascar event once…

Somehow, my golf cart was stolen in the middle of the knight, I wound up drunk and I still got paid.

@localpolicedepartment check us out breaking the law and having fun at this address right now! Hope this doesn’t ruin the fun for everyone!

People want attention so bad they’ll throw the baby out with the bath water for 2 seconds of algorithm fame. And yet somehow you still have people like 500 Mike that go, “Well yeah they should be extremely strict and not allow anyone to have fun because something bad could happen”. I bet none of these guys run that plug-in driving monitor for cheaper car insurance because I’m sure even the holier-than-thou types still do shit that would raise their insurance costs even if it doesn’t hurt anyone.

Call me crazy, but banning this dude from any future SX or MX event because of that video is excessive.

It is excessive. Unfortunately, MX Sports has complete control.  VitalMX, PulpMX, and any other media outlet knows it's wrong but won't say sh*t because it will cost them their paychecks. I don't blame them, but I do feel sorry for the position they are in.  If anyone could say something, it'd be Matthes, but he won't because they are all buddies.

I get the Cooksie ban, but Slowie is just a fan.

Not what I meant.  Go pushing the wrong buttons or asking the wrong questions and push back on MX Sports, and my guess is you would see first hand just how MX Sports controls the narrative (and no I'm not talking about Cooksey type nonsense) and is willing to protect it.  As far as I can tell, Slowie just gives some behind the scenes footage of what goes on.  I believe he admitted his mistake regarding the other stuff.

As mentioned, it seems excessive to give permanent bans for these "offenses" and I think it points to ulterior motives.

I understand its the same as before and its under attack from insurance.  But my opinion is just do away with it since its that big of a deal with insurance. That's the right thing to do not just turn a blind eye.

The tracks make a ton of money by offering camping. Start taking things away like outside food and drink, no campfires, no music, no generators, fuck it maybe eventually no camping. It seems like you’re saying they should let one person ruin it for everyone instead of just telling people to behave themselves and stop self snitching.

Why would they take those things away? Its obviously more than 1 person if they're worried about stuff that goes on in his videos involving large groups of people. The logical thing to do is make sure everyone behaves themselves or they also get a lifetime ban.

Its not my business and they can run it how they want but if people acting a fool is the issue tell people if they act like that they get banned. Pretry simple. I wouldn't risk my business to make a few people acting like idiots happy. If I was also mad about something he did I would tell him asap and not even give him the chance to step foot in my events again. But as we all saw they let him go down to lorettas before saying anything.

So basically don't monetize your videos, then your good to go. Loretta's is literally one giant money grab now where kids dont even need to race the event. They can simply post up on instagram content and get a ride.

Slowie gets life for filming what others are doing, but the one's that are doing it just go home and sober up with no consequences. MX Sports isn't going to punish the people making them money.

Oh I totally understand that. Its just stupid in my opinion to continue to let those activities go on if its such a threat to insurance. I hate seeing that stuff in videos so its not like I'll miss it.

Not a post on whoever these folks are, just Lorettas in general.....  I watched a few clips today on Vurb of practice, and that place looked empty compared to years past.  Usually a long the county road, semi trailers, folks on golf carts, people standing in the infield area.....  and that was including practice day.  Anyone there that can tell if it is down this year?  Even my 80 year old Mom noticed it.....  She texted me and said "looks like the times have caught up......  place looks down this year".  Not bitching, just curious.......

I qualified for Lorettas this year for the first time (30+, alternate for +25) and had to cancel due to the cost of going.

I went to register online and naively thought I would be signing up for my classes and settle gate fees upon arrival. It was $500 for both classes, $800 for the 'facility fee' and $200 per 'non-camping vehicle' (minimum 1) and a $50 processing fee. Well over $1500 (comes to roughly $2000 CAD) all demanded up front, 4 weeks prior to the event. I called MX Sports, pleaded to let me register for my classes and pay for the facility fees on arrival, or even through installments leading up to the race, but they wouldn't budge. I had just stretched my finances to attend a regional less than 2 weeks before the registration deadline and was figuring out the logistics for a camper/trailer, planning the time off of work, etc. I didn't have adequate time to generate the income, or to find sponsorship/crowd fund my trip, even with my parents offering to pay for the majority of it, so I was forced to abandon my journey to the ranch.

I understand and fundamentally respect that MX Sports is in business to make money. It's my responsibility to be informed on the registration procedure and financially prepared to participate in this event. That said, the end of my phone call with MX Sports blatantly told me they're indifferent to having a rider like me attend their events; "I'm sorry this sport is expensive" were the exact words on the call before parting ways. Hearing that cold response made my heart shatter. All I ever wanted as a racer was to race LLs once and it's my endgame for racing dirt bikes. I accomplished my bucket list goal, just to be brushed to the side, all because I wasn't able to front their lucrative entry level costs. Zero leniency, no room for the little guy.

This experience gave me a harsh reality check about the financial nature of LLs. I'm not about hopping on any bandwagons, but I think there's at least some merit in the criticism towards MX Sports, specifically that they're price gouging and somewhat greedy.

So he got banned for talking about and showing stuff that happened. Yet, the Friese/Peick fight was plastered all over the media along with having crash highlight reels in supercross.

Edited: looks like the video is posted in the other lorettas thread.

He now has a video up with canning tagged i believe from Monday where its showing him flying off of the back of the bike over the inside roller. Basically hes insinuating he clipped a low hanging tree branch and got flung off the bike. Idk man this is turning into the media battle that we have threads on. Its just going to be guys taking shots at mxsports now.

Took a look at the latest ' I've been banned' video mentioned.

The order excluding the individual from MX Sports events had his name incorrect apparently.
In effect that -cough- legal document was referring to someone else entirely.

Hilarious on sooo many levels.

Very well and fairly laid out.  Yes, it is very expensive.   The snarky response is just unprofessionalism on the part of that person and a kick in the nuts like you said.  I totally get the wanting to go just for the experience and the accomplishment.  Had that same feeling for many years through my 30's and 40's.  Was never able to go as a kid due to lack of funds, never in my 20's or 30's due to military.  Now that I have the time and the funds, I'm more realistic/practical about the costs vs. the benefits.  And, I can tell you, going as a mechanic last year pretty much killed my desire to go after dealing with all the costs and effort involved.  And the insane heat and humidity pretty much settled it.   When I saw the same conditions today I was pretty glad I wasn't there.  😅

Man, that sucks. The response would hurt no matter where you’re at financially. The biggest problem for guys like you, me or anyone else in that type of situation is that for every one of us, there’s probably 10 or more families per class waiting for that spot to open and ready to drop any amount of money to get in whether they actually have it to spend or not and MXSports knows that. And that’s part of the issue with our sport and Loretta’s.

He was showing a lot more of the "party atmosphere" in the pits, particularly at Red Bub.  Sponsors, investors, and insurance companies see those videos and then that has an effect on MX sport's bottom line.  Slowie only has about 20K subscribers, and Cooksey has 41K, but in a sport like MX that is enough to drive a media story.

In many ways Youtube and social media has really saved the sport SX and MX, but it has also been a double sided sword in some instances.

The party videos were funny at times but I was surprised he wasn’t questioned by authorities when he posted a video of some chick flashing a dude at high point, they said she was 18 but she looked like she was fucking 14.

Yeah, a lifetime ban from all MX Sports races is fucking heavy man. But I lose a lot of empathy when I hear Slowie is trying to do some Girls Gone Wild shit at the races. I ask has he ever received any prior warnings or did this come out of nowhere?

Post a reply to: Loretta’s, Slowie films?
