My son was in your shoes a number of years back. I sent him for a week. A week eventually turned into a few months. His entire goal was to make it to Loretta's in C. In my opinion, any training helps. With that said, a week really won't help you that much. Said differently, you're not going from mid-pack C class to winning C (or qualifying for Loretta's) with 1 week of training. It really builds on itself. Doing it won't hurt you but if you do, I'd take others advice and see if you can line someone up...
