If it wasn't mentioned, check out Cabrillo National Monument. You have to pay to get in, but the views are great (downtown, the bay, Coronado, the Pacific Ocean). Some short hikes that you can do. An old lighthouse to tour. Tide pools (check the tides). It's fun to watch jets take off from the naval air base and see them rise from below you. we were in Deerhorn Valley. Built a hillside track in our yard there too for riding my 1993 RM250. Cahuilla and Amago tracks weren't far away either.

If the weather is nice, a very cool experience is to rent kayaks and check out La Jolla cove. They have guided tours or you can cruise around on your own. I had a sea lion playfully checking me out so close that I could have reached out and gave it a pet.
