Well, last one for awhile. Picked this up locally right before we sold the house, and it’s going into storage as we leave for Hawaii early next year. Hopefully it will join us out there sometime in early 2025. Found this as a mostly complete project, bike had been in the owner’s family since new. He had done some pretty good work to it already; welded, repaired, & powdercoated the frame, new engine seals and bearings, new cylinder and piston, all new chassis bearings, stock suspension serviced, new wheels laced up to original hubs, new tank and plastics, among other...

BUT, a person can't go out and buy a new RM250. This bike is nicely rebuilt, with upgrades, at a fair price, from a reputable person on this site. Good luck with the sale!

Hello, I finally received my HRC style translucent front plate. I had to make a little adaptor in order to make it fit correctly. And today, postman dropped my graphics. I am very happy of it, I will install it tonight and post picture tomorrow.

There should be plenty of good used ones on ebay for about the same price of a heli-coil kit. The front brake caliper between ~1989 to 2007 should all fit your 2001. Just a little hint.. the works HRC front brake calipers on the 2000 and 2001 Japan factory Honda's were in reality just an old 1991 standard oem CR250 calipers fitted with titanium pistons. I guess the much older oem calipers had a lighter housing than the ones that came on the 2000-2001 production bikes, so that is what the Honda factory team used on their championship winning RC250's...

Moved to az from so cal. Son outgrew his Crf150r and I sold my 450x. Decided to start riding moto again and we found these gems back in so cal. I already rebuilt a cr250 a few years back and don’t have the time to build up another so I was searching for a while for some clean 2 strokes. 2003 RM250 full rebuild top to bottom. Ridden twice but you would never know. Sons is a 2004 yZ125 full rebuild too to bottom and never rode since it was finished. Can’t wait to hit the track!

I really appreciate the thought, as much of a setback as this is I ultimately feel like it's my responsibility. My family is healthy and in the end it's just dirt bikes. There's far more deserving causes.

We call them timestamps on reddit. Proof of ownership. Honestly, everyone should be doing this (or at least requesting it), it's to easy not to.. Like you said, it'll at least verify their in possession. Example:

Our local dealer here doesnt test ride new bikes. They say they do heat cycle them a few times though to verify nothing is leaking. I agree with Zycki11 they can do better. That should be a free rear tire and replacement at minimum.
