7/19/2020 4:35am I also think that it's getting harder and harder to dominate for a rider today. When the tracks get easier and everyone is doing all the obstacles and running the same lap times, an "off" night for Eli can mean some really bad results. Back in the 90s and early 2000s, an "off" night meant 2nd or 3rd because nobody...

7/19/2020 4:29am You kinda touched on something that I have said for a long time. Tomac is unfairly criticized a lot of times because he's not quite at that all time great elite level the dominant riders were before him. Just a tad bit behind it, as is everyone else. racing right now. But people expect him to be that way and dominate the way they did. Think about this for a second. This sport went from McGrath to Carmichael to Stewart to Villopoto to Dungey. All without having any gap years between them and with Reed sprinkled there as an elite...

7/18/2020 10:27am IF every track was like Toronto 2014, greatness would separate itself like it did that night. I’m ALL for that. How inspired were you that night? Who DIDN’T have goosebumps? Now, when have you had that feeling since then? I’ll argue that Washougal 2018-2019 rides by Tomac we’re close. Inspiration fuels us all. It’s what makes us push harder and be better. Someone standing out and achieving greatness that you don’t see every day. Like it or not, racing wouldn’t be what it is today without the dominance of MC that fueled Carmichael and pushed Reed to become what they...

7/17/2020 1:28pm I disagree. I want someone to beat beat bubba but I don't want it to be because everyone ran the same lap times on an easy track.

7/17/2020 1:00pm I wasn't trying to say that I don't want close racing. I absolutely do! I just want it to happen organically, and not because the powers that be try and manufacture it.

7/17/2020 12:58pm I love close racing. So exciting watching the battles. Having said that, I've never been bored or disappointed when someone gapped or lapped the field. When that happens you know you're witnessing something special. RV and James knew how to put on a clinic but that damn Carmichael was the best at running away with a motocross race. The Euros have had some dominators as well..Everts, Cairoli, and Herlings. Close or a runaway...it's all good. Can't wait for the abbreviated season to get the Hell started.

7/17/2020 11:49am Now, I can get on board with that argument. I think of, for example, Toronto 2014 and James Stewart's incredible charge through the pack. If they had dumbed-down that track he might have finished around 5th and nobody would have ever remembered it. But he found a combo through that long rhythm section, went 3-3 before the finish line and separated himself from the pack. One of the best races ever. Then again, if he had gotten the holeshot, we'd probably never remember that race either because he would have checked out. Lol, I don't know. It's hard to catch...

7/17/2020 11:25am Respectfully, I'll disagree. I came into this sport in the early 1980's, when parity was the norm. I think from 1979 to 1989 nobody went back-to-back as Supercross champion. Wardy and RJ did it twice in that decade, but never two in a row. I loved the fact that we didn't know who was going to win on any given weekend, maybe until Johnson started dominating in the late 80's. David Bailey was my favorite rider from that era and he remains an icon and a legend. But his career numbers might look unimpressive compared to, say, Ryan Dungey or...

7/17/2020 11:47am I absolutely see where you are coming from. I think I more or less agreed with you for a long time too. I'm just now starting to second guess it. I think back to 96 when Damon Huffman challenged McGrath. It really meant something for Damon to battle with Jeremy, because Jeremy was a living legend. I think my argument...

6/23/2020 3:53am Forgive me if I missed it, but I haven't seen anyone reference the lap before the incident. Sexton took the exact same line, but he was too far back to make the pass. Nichols TRIPLE-TRIPLED to the outside and railed the berm to avoid getting black passed. I've seen people on here and even Matthes and JT say that Nichols...

6/22/2020 1:48pm Hyperbole. Substitute "terrified" for "bummed at the prospect". In reality I feel spoiled for even having a sport to watch that I enjoy this much, lucky to see Tomac and Herling's talent on display, and hopeful at the idea of them competing at MXDN whenever possible.

6/22/2020 11:15am This is a total pipe dream, but man I just want to see the best guys all race one series. I wanted Eli to win this title so he could close this chapter and then, by some miracle, shift his focus to Herlings. I wish the moto gods could figure this out. One race per year just isn't enough. For...

6/16/2020 3:36am Did anyone else notice tomac in the corner after the small rhythm section and whoops. (Same corner roczen passed Webb) He was Hitting the inside and standing on the pegs all the way through, it was a beautiful site to watch. I had to re watch it a few times. By the way I’m a roczen fan and want him to Somehow pull this title off.

6/14/2020 5:28am Cool segment. It's like the Jomboy baseball videos for supercross.

6/7/2020 9:55pm So much fun. I love the races between Eli and Webb because I get the impression that Eli doesn't trust Webb like he does Roczen. It forces Eli to absolutely rail the next turn when he thinks Webb is going to block him. His incredible balance in the corners was on full display tonight.
chadder44 Added a reply to Best passer of all-time
6/6/2020 5:02am Stew had the easiest time passing people because he was going so much faster, so technically that makes him probably the best passer. Roczen gets my vote for passing people when he isn't going that much faster than the guys he is passing. In a class where tenths separate the riders and everyone basically does all the same rhythms etc...
